iVIP Black $999 The first thing you need to know about using iVIP Black is that you need to be a millionaire; once you ve purchased the app, you ll be asked to certify that you re a H igh Net Worth Individual before you can make use of its services. According to makers Lextech Labs, the app delivers "a video command center to the palm of your hand" and effectively lets you mana ge some aspects of your site security without requiring you to sit in an office. It shows six thumbnail views at a time from whatever array of IP-connected surv eillance cameras you own, and lets you have full pan/tilt/zoom control of compat ible cams and even offers a still image capture facility in case you see somethi ng of interest going on. For the huge price you get an app that's capable of accessing a wide range of co nnected cameras and their data/control servers. MATG SAP BusinessOne $449 This app is more properly called "My Accounts to Go" and it's designed to be a f ully integrated part of the SAP BusinessOne financial management system, connect ed wirelessly but still capable of displaying full financial data, transaction h istory and warehousing information. It's specifically designed for finance, sales and marketing execs who find thems

elves out in the field often, and if your company already uses SAP's accounting system it'll likely prove invaluable, even at nearly $500.

Luminair $99 This is a professional app geared specifically towards A/V and theatre professio nals. Luminair lets you control lighting fixtures and consoles straight from you r iPhone or iPod Touch. If you re working behind the scenes on a play, for example , you can use Luminair to control stage lighting, special effects, and even fog m achines. The program also allows users to auto-save and auto-restore previous lig hting settings for individual fixtures, or for entire production configurations. Mobile Cameras Enterprise $349 Like iRa, MCV is designed to be a security office camera control room on the go-it basically lets you securely monitor all of your net-connected security camer as or Webcams on your iPhone. It too supports a wide range of camera protocols, but it doesn't seem to allow you to interact with the cameras like iRa does. Per haps that's why it's $550 cheaper. Proloquo $189 An iPhone app for those who have difficulty in speaking, Proloquo2Go offers a to tal communication solution for people who have difficulty speaking. Nursing Constillation Plus $179 Another medical app, Nursing Constellation Plus is intended for use by, er, nurs es. Big surprise, that. The app has a variety of reference tools, including a dr ug dosing calculation tool, medical dictionary and a book of diagnostic tests. Lexidental COMPLETE $299 Lexidental is a full drug/image/medical database app for dental practitioners, w ith photographs, charts, and encyclopedic information that's designed to help de ntists with their work. It's also going to be useful for dental students. There's a host of other apps that come with a price tag of between $100 and $300 too--apps like Navigon's Mobile Navigator (Europe) edition. And taken as a whol e, particularly with the massive price of BarMax, it would seem to indicate one thing: The App Store, though it contains much that is frivolous, is growing up a nd serving software that's extremely useful to professionals of all sorts of dif ferent genres. iChart EMR $139 Yet another medical app. EMR stands for electronic medical record , and as the name suggests, this application allows physicians to track and manage patients right from their iPhone or iPod Touch. Physicians can even wirelessly write prescript ions and sync relevant data back up to online databases. Initial reviews of this program complained of sluggishness and assortment of other bugs/problems. A rec ent update, however, seems to have fixed many of those problems.
