"E6E1A2 1E@4#1E5E6TS The medium %oltage, gas-insulated %acuum circuit &rea'er s itchgear shall &e metal-clad as defined in #EC *=*>( and shall meet A6S#?#EEE C/).-=.- eBcept for differences related to fiBed circuit &rea'er construction and isolated-phase &us arrangement. All components of the s itchgear !i.e., circuit &rea'ers, &us&ar, disconnect s itches, grounding s itches, +T9s etc.$ shall &e in grounded metal enclosures. The construction shall ithstand forces !repeatedly, ithout distortion$ caused &y closing and opening of the circuit &rea'er. The s itchgear shall &e capa&le of ithstanding all stresses produced &y fault conditions up to and including the rated short-circuit current specified in -.-.7 ithout damage. Each current carrying component of the equipment shall &e capa&le of continuous operation at the specified ratings ithout eBceeding the maBimum temperature rise stated in the A6S# and #EC standards. The s itchgear lineup shall &e designed and manufactured ith pro%ision for future eBpansion on each end. ;hen eBtending either end of the s itchgear, it shall only &e necessary to e%acuate the S0* gas compartment and remo%e end panels for the associated &us&ars. 6o other gas compartments or components shall &e affected. The indi%idual gas-sealed compartments shall &e capa&le of &eing separately e%acuated for inspection or maintenance, hile 'eeping the ad8acent compartments pressuri<ed to rated pressure. 2ea'age of gas from the s itchgear enclosures shall not eBceed =..H of the gas per compartment per year. S itchgear feeders shall &e compartmentali<ed in single-phase, isolated-phase, construction, ith: 1. The preferred location for the &us&ar pressure relief shall &e such that gases are eBhausted through the top of the enclosures. The insulating gas shall &e pressuri<ed higher than atmospheric pressure. Solid insulators shall &e non-hygroscopic, epoBy cast resin, free from %oids and contaminants. The contour of the insulators shall &e such that a uniform %oltage gradient is produced o%er the entire surface. EpoBy cast resin &ushing-type insulators shall &e pro%ided at the intersections &et een compartments. The &ushing-type insulators ill support the li%e conductors and ! here necessary$ pro%ide a gas-tight &arrier &et een compartments. The design of the &ushing-type insulator shall &e such that it is possi&le to inspect, maintain, or pressuri<e each gas section indi%idually ithout interfering ith ad8acent gas sections. A different handle shall &e required for changing the s itch position from disconnected to ready-to-ground position. A mechanism operated position indicator shall &e located on the front of the s itchgear panel and indicate Connected I Open - 1eady-to-"round. Additionally, a flag type mechanical indicator shall &e %isi&le from the rear of the s itchgear. This flag indicator shall &e elded to the main shaft of the s itch operator !&olted construction is not accepta&le$. Each tie circuit &rea'er shall ha%e one set of CTs, [1222,1#] ['(eci& ratio re*uired]. All current transformers shall &e installed around the cast aluminum phase housings or around the feeder ca&les so that the CT is free of dielectric and thermal stress. CT9s shall &e located on the ca&le termination side of the circuit &rea'er. Current transformers shall &e single !S1$ as sho n on the dra ings and shall ha%e a shortcircuit ratings not less than that of the associated s itchgear. They shall &e capa&le of carrying the rated primary current for a period of one minute ith the secondary indings open-circuited as specified in #EEE C.).1/ or related #EC *==((-1 standards. 2o po er signal CTs shall also &e accepta&le. +O2TA"E T1A6S0O15E1S +oltage transformer ratings and locations shall &e as indicated on the dra ings.
