INT.PARTY CLUB-NIGHT Wild background music fading in. Angela Zobel, 18, glamorous and free spirited, celebrating her 18th birthday with her friend. ANGELA (dancing with her friend Twiggy) It’s not new that boys come and buy her a drink. She’d be surprised if they did not do instead. TWIGGY Angela (laughs) Come on, are you trying to be funny? ANGELA Baket? Cute naman ah? TWIGGY Cute? Si Dexter? Hello??? He’s like the most contagious type of nerd I know. Wag kang tanggap ng tanggap ng drinks jan sa lalakeng yan. For all I know baka may scientific ek-ek yung mga iniinom nyan. Naku. ANGELA Eh ano naman? Hay nako Twigs wag ka ngang maarte. Hindi ako tulad mo. Pinipili gwapo lang. I like boys e. Whatever the type they might appear to be. TWIGGY (rolls her eyes) Ewan ko sayo. Basta ako ayoko sa mga mukang may sapak!... O ayan na pala ang type mo. Ingat ha baka ma-poison ka pa. EXT. AIRPORT-NIGHT Jared Wilson, 19, cryptic and sharp. Arrived at the Philippines feeling bored and exhausted from his flight. JARED (rubs his eyes and sighs) He walked as he looked at his watch and noticed that it’s passed midnight.

INT. CONDOMINIUM-NIGHT Twiggy brought Angela to her condominium when suddenly the elevator almost closed. Thank god somebody stopped it close enough. TWIGGY (to Jared) Thank you...Angela umayos ka nga. ANGELA (smiles at Jared) Hi pogi. TWIGGY Sorry ah, ngayon lang nakawala sa babuyan to eh. JARED (forced a small smile) The elevator reached the highest level and Jared walked fast to avoid the situation. Sure enough it pissed both the ladies off. TWIGGY (gasps) How Rude! (assists Angela) ANGELA HOY PARE, POGI KA PA RIN KAHIT MASUNGIT KA! (laughs) TWIGGY LOKA! (poked Angela’s head) INT. CONDOMINIUM,JARED’S UNIT-NIGHT JARED (phone rings) Hello? Connor Wilson II, 48, Jared’s strict father who’s a senator in the country. CONNOR Jared how’s your flight? JARED Oh, it’s fine dad. I just got here in my room.

CONNOR That’s good. Have you received your schedule? JARED (checked his blackberry) Yes dad. Thanks. CONNOR (talking to some persons) Excuse me son...Jared sorry son I’ll just have to deal with you later. See you then. JARED Ok. CONNOR (Hangs-up) Jared, upset and mad, buried himself in his bed. His burberry was ringing in a tune of Happy Birthday. EXT. CONDOMINIUM, TERRACE-DAY ANGELA (selling her designs online) Hmm... Across her window... JARED (shirtless and in his boxers, comes out the terrace and stretches out) While Angela was sipping her hot chocolate, she burst out in mild laughter. Jared who was oblivious to this suddenly saw a girl giggling. JARED (accidentally tripped) Ow. Oooh, shit. ANGELA HEY!!! You there Mister Flexed, you okay? JARED (ignored her and came back inside his room)

4. INT. CONDOMINIUM-DAY ANGELA (talking to Twiggy at the phone) Oo nakakatawa talaga. Tumpak! Si Mr. Sungit at si Mr. Flexed iisa! (giggles) Sige sige ha I’ll talk to you soon. Angela absentmindedly dropped her phone at the sight of Jared who seemed to be like walking in slow motion while his whole body is like glowing. ANGELA WOAH She didn’t understand much of what’s going on but now Mr. Flexed looked angry. JARED Miss can you watch where you’re going. Look what you’ve done. Is it your job to ruin my day? He’s talking about his planner which is now wet because of Angela’s clumsiness. ANGELA I’m sorry...I-I can get you another one.(picks up the planner) JARED Another one? (scoffs) Do you think a blank and new planner can get my schedule back. ANGELA I’m really sorry. I-I don’t know what got into me. JARED (pinches his shirt and tries to dry it) God what a day. (looks at Angela in piercing eyes) ANGELA (starts to cry) I’m so sorry. Sorry na talaga. Please don’t be mad at me. (sobs) I didn’t mean to, I’m really really sorry. (rubs her face) (CONTINUED)

CONTINUED: People walking by started to whisper. JARED She-she’s not...(looks at Angela) ANGELA (cries harder) huhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuh JARED (touches his forehead) Hey will you stop it. ANGELA I’m sorry Mr. Flexed, I’m just not used with people mad at me. JARED What did you call me? (shook his head) I’m not mad at you. ANGELA You’re not? JARED (still looks pissed) . ANGELA Liar. You are. (cries again) This time more people start to notice. JARED (sighs) Come on. (grabs her hand and lead her to a less crowded area)Look MissANGELA Angela. JARED What? ANGELA Angela. (makes a face) ANGELA (scoffs and slaps him) Kapal mo di ako pok pok ! (goes away) JARED (touching his left face) That girl...argh (walks quickly towards the exit)

While walking, Angela noticed that she still got Jared’s planner. She opened it and read the only thing that’s readable. ANGELA Jared Andrew Wilson III. (looks back) INT. NATIONAL LIBRARY-DAY JARED Dad, sorry I’m late. CONNOR (looks at his watch) You are. I just hope that your reason for being late in the first time is that important (eyed his shirt) JARED (thinks about his encounter with Angela) It’s just, I was a little sick last night.

CONTINUED: CONNOR (drops the tardy subject) Well then, this is Sargeant dela Cruz, he’ll be your mentor for criminology and writing oral advocacy tax. Jared shook the hand of Sgt. dela Cruz. JARED (nods) Pleasure to meet you sir. SGT. DELA CRUZ Hello Jared (smiles) CONNOR (looks at Jared, nods and leaves) EXT.RESTAURANT-DAY TWIGGY No way! Siya? Yung masungit na lalakeng na-encounter naten last night? Siya yung nirereto ng dad mo sayo. I can’t believe it. Of all the guys kay Mr. No-Soul ka ata babagsak. ANGELA (rolls her eyes) Twigs will you chill. I believe that Jared’s a good man. He’s just the serious type. Mabait yon pustahan. TWIGGY Hay nako ewan ko sayo’t masyado kang hopeful. ANGELA At least marami akong natutulungan deba. Kesa naman sa isang gaya mo na napaka man-hater at pessimistic. Mag loosen-up ka nga ng konti jan. Mamaya sumabog ka pa. TWIGGY (sneers) Che. Wala lang talaga akong time para sa mga asungot na lalake.

Twigs thank you for being such a good friend. Angela never had so much girlfriends. It is because of her charms and her personality that a girl less than her charisma would easily get intimidated and jealous of what she possesses. Especially when she’s around boys. (sets her cup back at the table and continues to explore Jared’s planner) After Jared’s four and a half hours with Sgt. dela Cruz and his endless hours of appointments, he went back to his condo unit only to get surprised by his older high school friends. INT. CONDOMINIUM,JARED’S UNIT-NIGHT Jared’s friends caught him by surprise. Suddenly, balloons were everywhere and an upbeat music was playing. They greet him by presenting him his birthday cake which had the roman number 19 candle was on. ERON My MAN! Welcome back to Pinas!(gave him a pat) JARED Eron? Hey. (puts his hands on his head) I can’t believe this. I thought you were back in L.A.?

ERON Well, Nico and I was really planning on visiting. So I called him in New York and told him that maybe you should take a break from your father’s crucial demands and voila! His smile got even wider when he saw his other best bud Nico who was now a respected business tycoon in New York. NICO What happened to you? You don’t look like 19. You look a lot older pare. ERON Can we blame him? He’s probably busy studying the why’s, how’s, and what’s of the law. Our boy here is growing up and soon to be a lawyer. Can’t say I’m not proud lil’ Jared. JARED You guys haven’t changed a bit. It’s my birthday Eron, quit calling me names. I’m not a kid anymore. ERON (rolls his eyes) Sure thing. JARED (inspects his room) You know you guys should just probably go back because it’s awkward to have the 2 of you as my guests alone. I haven’t made any friends here and I wasn’t planning on making one so... ERON Ahh Jared...You are undermining our potentials. I think it’s time to get the old "you" back. JARED Get the old "me" back? What do you mean? NICO (smiles naughtily)

A mysterious knock on the door interrupted their conversation and Jared instantly got curious. It was like they were on a suspense movie. ERON (opens the door) A couple of foxy girls screamed and greeted Jared. They were carrying a giant birthday cake. JARED What the... ERON What do you expect? Do you think we’re that lame? (shook his head) NICO We’re far from lame. JARED (rolls his eyes) Happy Birthday to me! (raise his glass of champagne) INT. CONDOMINIUM-NIGHT Angela was going to her unit when she heard loud and party noises coming from Jared’s room. She then remembered that it was his birthday and decided to buy him a present back downstairs. INT. CONDOMINIUM,JARED’S UNIT-NIGHT Eron, though the music is loud, heard a knock on the door. He opened it and was adored so far by the cutest and prettiest lady he had ever seen. ANGELA Hi! ERON Well, hello there. Aren’t you the cutest thing? NICO (caught Eron talking to someone at the door) Hey (to Eron) Oh, hello there.

ANGELA Hi, is Jared there? (stands on her toes to peak) NICO Uh, yeah. Come in. Why don’t you join us? ANGELA Um, sorry but I’ve had enough parties...it’s just I just want to give him his planner back. ERON Oh...um are you his girlfriend? (eyes got wide) ANGELA No, No. I don’t think he wants to see me or rather talk to me by any chance...but if you’d be really nice...would you please do me a favor and give these to him. (it’s a new planner)I really ruined his day earlier...I didn’t know it was his birthday. If you’d only seen his face... NICO (laughs) Sorry ’bout that Miss. The guy’s really messed-up. ERON What do you mean ruin his day earlier? What did you do? ANGELA I...I slapped him. Eron and Nico exchanged glances and laughed. They actually thought it was funny. NICO Don’t worry, we’ll give this to him. ANGELA Oh thank you. I really appreciate it.

ERON You got a name Miss? She can’t give them her real name now that she knew Jared was a possible choice of the future husband. She should have been observant about her father’s jokes than before. She found a bottle of G.S.M. blue and a name blurted right through her mouth. ANGELA Anne. My name is Anne. She was hoping that Jared would just get real drunk and forget everything including her name that night. INT. CONDOMINIUM,ANG’S UNIT-NIGHT Angela was just beside her glass window sitting and starring at Jared who was in his usual silent mood. ANGELA (talking to herself) What are you really like Jared Andrew Wilson III ? Ganito na lang ba tayo...magtititigan? (laughs at herself) Ang pogi mo talaga. Jose Joachim Tan Zobel, Angela’s father who’s a respected businessman and CEO of Ayala properties was far from the rude and selfish stereotype father everyone is talking about. In truth, she’s always been a daddy’s girl. Up until now, her father is the only person in the world who knows her secrets. He had been a great father to her, it is as if he is the only guy friend she could ever have. She never complained even when he said he wants the perfect guy for her to be like Jared, or some guy he chose in his "future son-in-law" options. She had never met or saw Jared before their encounter, but she met his father - the great senator Connor Andrew Wilson II. She had a great feeling that among her father’s options, it will be Jared since her father and his’ had a great comradeship. ANGELA (sighs) From afar, Angela could tell that Jared also had a tough day. He went back inside and turned of his lights. ANGELA Goodnight Mr. Flexed. I’ll see you tomorrow. (gets to her bed and turns of her lamp-shade)

13. After a few days... INT. CONDOMINIUM-DAY Hoping that Jared already got his head cool, Angela tried to talk to him again. ANGELA Hi! (smiles) JARED (looks at her with piercing eyes) You. ANGELA Um, do you like your new planner? JARED You mean this one (shows her a different planner) Yes truly, I do. (stands up and leaves his payment at the coffee table) ANGELA Oh, so you must have bought earlier...Anyway, where are you going? JARED (looks at her coldly) Nowhere. Now, go away. ANGELA (follows him) Please, Jared please can I ride with you. See I’m always riding with my best friend to my yoga classes but she can’t do that now ’cause she got business and stuff. JARED (still walking, pace faster than normal) Oh is that so? Guess what? It’s not my problem. (got to his car-which is a cool audi convertible) ANGELA (sighs) Well, if I’m bothering you that much...have a nice trip then. (smiles) (CONTINUED)

JARED (shook his head and maneuvered his car) Angela got no choice but commute transportation. While she was waiting for a cab, Jared can see her from his side mirror. EXT. STREET-DAY JARED (scoffs) Yoga classes huh? Because Angela doesn’t know what jeep to ride and what to tell the cab driver, she asked for directions first. Of all the people passing by, she chose and talked to the most repulsive and drug-dealer-pot-smoking type of person there is. This got Jared’s attention. JARED (brows pulled together) Is she really that dumb? Jared was about to ignore her when his conscience speaks. He honked loud enough to get her attention. Angela walked by his car at once. JARED (unlock the doors) Angela wasn’t so sure if she’s going in or she’ll continue to interview that nice young man. Jared opened his windows. JARED What are you waiting for? Don’t tell me you’ll go back there? Get in. ANGELA (obeys his command and looks back at the man) He really needs help you know. (sighs) If only you could see the pain in his eyes...um thank you for the ride anyway. Jared is starting to get annoyed again for the traffic is not just heavy but super and he made things even worst by letting this girl get in his car.

JARED (touches his nape) Pain in his eyes? (mocks her) Miss, there’s nothing to trust about that guy. You saw his dress and I bet his smell is the worst. It’d be my conscience if I left you alone with that disgusting man. ANGELA Hey! Don’t be like that. Every person should be treated with respect. Whether he dressed nice or not, he deserves one and should be treated fairly. Jared was speechless hearing this. He for all people should understand that...but it’s not him. His friends often call him an introvert but he’s forced to do what his father tells him to. He never meant to insult anyone, it’s just-he’s like that, he’s always been like that. JARED I’m sorry. ANGELA (smiles) It’s okay. Everybody does that. They sat in silence for a while. ANGELA So, where are you heading? JARED I’m meeting up with my fiancee at Manila Hotel. ANGELA (almost throw up) Oh...I don’t mean to pry but, what is she like? JARED (focuses on the road) Honestly, I don’t know. This is the first time I’m going to meet her. Suddenly Angela’s phone rang. To her surprise, it’s her mischievous father.

CONTINUED: ANGELA J.J. you called? J.J. Oh good morning my sunshine, how’s your day? ANGELA Good never been better. You? J.J. The same. You know what my unica ija, your Uncle Connor wants you to meet his son Jared. Can you meet us up at Manila Hotel this noon? ANGELA (looks at her watch and it’s 2 hours before noon) Ah, sure, I’ll try to get there on time. J.J. If you’re not going to make it, I’m sure your uncle and Jared would understand. ANGELA (nods) Yeah. Thanks J.J. Love you J.J. Love you too dear. (hangs-up) Jared assumed that it was her boyfriend. JARED Um, where are you heading? ANGELA Ah...I’m actually heading there too. JARED (thinks that her "boyfriend" might have told her to meet him there) I hate the traffic jam (he whispered)

Shit, Angela thought. How is she going to do this. She can’t let Jared know she’s his fiancee. There’s no way she’d let that happen because if it did, surely a lot will change; especially Jared’s impression about her. (CONTINUED)

ANGELA (turns on his radio) The Pussycat Dolls’ Stick with you is playing on the stereo. ANGELA Ooh, I love this song. JARED (shook his head but smiled) I hate that song. ANGELA (smiles) D’you mind if I ask you something? JARED (laughs a bit) I guess I can’t stop you now can I? ANGELA Well, I know a lot about arranged marriage...(Jared looked at her suspiciously) Not that I myself is tied up already but what I do know is that it’s not based on love but money or business partnership with families... JARED (confused) Your point? ANGELA Well, obviously your not in love...but will you still take this fiancee of yours as your wife...I mean we’re talking about forever here! JARED I don’t believe in love. Angela couldn’t believe her ears when she heard him say that. As a kid, she’d always believed in love, up until now. ANGELA What!!!

EXT. HOTEL-DAY ANGELA How can you not believe in love? Look it’s everywhere!?! JARED (sees nothing) Where? There’s obviously nothing lovable in here. ANGELA (scoffs and grabs his jaw) Look. The paintings, the atmosphere, the ambiance-THE PRESENCE OF LOVE! Don’t you get it Grinch? JARED (laughs) Whatever. I say, you go to the rest room and pee already. You girls are so low I don’t get it. He was about to turn around and leave when... ANGELA That’s it Mister, you’re coming with me. She pinched his ear and grab his other arm. JARED Ow, woman, do not humiliate me in front of these people. Ow! ANGELA Anne, the name is Anne. At wag mo kong aartehan dito ha, hiya? Wala ako nun! JARED What? ANGELA (scoffs) Mga kano talaga, mag-aral ka nga ng tagalog! JARED I’m not a "kano" I’m Australian!

CONTINUED: ANGELA Oh, that explains the accent. JARED Where are you taking me? ANGELA Away from your fiancee obviously. (she whistled and a cab stopped) JARED (surprised) . ANGELA Manong sa Manila Cathedral po. JARED (eyes widened) What are we going to do in there? ANGELA What’s the purpose of the Church? JARED Driver! Pull over I’m going out. ANGELA Manong, wag kang makinig sa mokong na to. E may yuying to e. Diretso mo.

The driver was humored by the two and he drove fast enough for the two of them to get there; luckily they witnessed a wedding going on. EXT. CHURCH-DAY ANGELA See? That is love. (sighs) Angela watched as the couple share kisses, while Jared was looking down at his watch still worried about his appointments. JARED Man, I’m so late. (looks at Angela) ANGELA What? Jared lost his patience and this time it’s his turn to do the grabbing. (CONTINUED)

CONTINUED: JARED Look, I’m sick and tired of your games. Here (took some money from his wallet and gave it to her) Take it I’m sure it’s enough for your transportation food or whatever. All I know right now, is I’m through with you. ANGELA Fine! All I want is to help you. You know what if you keep throwing out persons in your life, there will come a time that you will be coming back realizing that she is important. And if that time came, you’ll see that she’ll never be yours! JARED (laughs) Okay, I don’t care! And if that happens, I’ll be more than happy! Finally. Geez. ANGELA (squeals) . Because of the heat, Angela’s heel broke. ANGELA Oh no...this can’t be happening.

Jared, who’s already 3 meters away looked back to see Angela sitting on the stairs trying to figure out how to solve her problem. JARED (shook his head) She can survive that...(looks back and sighs) Jared went to Angela whose now trying to broke the other heel. JARED (laughs) Give it... ANGELA (give him her other pair) You came back?

JARED This is going to be the last...(he broke the other one and gave it back to Angela) ANGELA Thanks. (looks at her watch) A depresses-glum-fashion designer saw the two of them and said... GAYLA AY BONGGA ITU!!! Both Angela and Jared was surprised when a gay screamed in front of them. ANGELA Um, sino po sila? GAYLA Gayla Samonte. Isa akong aspiring fashion designer! Halikayo I’m desperately in need of a model nagtanan kasi yung kinuha ko eh. (grabbed their arms) ANGELA (looked at Jared) San po tayu pupunta? GAYLA Sa Salon! Dali na, sumama na kayo ng darling mo. Angela shrugged at Jared and follows Gayla. JARED (rolls his eyes) Anne, we should probably go back. ANGELA But he needs our help. You should just go along with this Jared nang maexperience mo namang tumulong. Jared didn’t know what he’ll be doing but he sure did understand what she’d say.

22. INT. SALON-DAY Inside, there was chaos everywhere. There were crazy people walking in and out, scattered magazines on the floor but though the place was this dramatic, Angela never felt so artistic. ANGELA (gasps) Oh my God. JARED Oh man, you’ve got to be kidding me. ANGELA (grabs Jared’s arm) Come on. (giggles) GAYLA Mga DARRLING Pay attensiyones! We’ve got ourselves a new pair. (eying both Jared and Angela) Jared and Angela just looked at each other. GAYLA Minions! (claps his hands) Ayusan nyo na at pabonggahin ang dalwang eto! Hay Salamat... A couple of hair-dressers and make-up artists were beautifying them. ANGELA (to her hair-dresser) Ano pong mangyayari sa amin? GAY1 Edi anu pa, paparada kayo neng! ANGELA Ho? (looks at Jared who’s kind of losing his head)May fiesta po ba dito? GAY1 Wala day, may wedding gown contest lang. OA ka naman. Angela was worried about Jared who’s now annoyed by his hair-dresser who kept asking him questions and pulling his hair.

JARED HEY! Easy with the hair will you. GAY1 Taray mo day gwapo ang boyfriend mo ha! May kapatid ba yan o pinsan? ANGELA (shrugs) . After an hour... GAYLA (tear) HAy byola, I’m so proud of myself. Angela and Jared looked like a pair made in heaven. They both look absolutely stunning in her gown and in his suit. JARED This is a little bit hotter than it looks like don’t you think? ANGELA (sigh) That’s how a suit should be. (Rolls her eyes) When she caught up with his look she couldn’t afford to look away. JARED What? ANGELA Yeah...you definitely look hot. JARED (looked away) . GAY1 (nudged her) mhhmm... ANGELA (winks at her) . GAYLA O, tara na!

Sabi lang niya kanina He was supposed to meet his fiancee but di natuloy yon dahil sa kakulitan ko. SANDRA Baket? Ano bang relasyon nyong dalawa? Sandra was getting on Angela’s nerves a little. She should be thankful that Ang’s got a long patience. ANGELA Um, magkaibigan kame...since kanina. SANDRA Hmm...he looks yummy. How old is he?

ANGELA He just turned 19 a few days ago. SANDRA (giggles) And I’m just 21...(She eyed Jared from head to toe) When Jared turned off his phone, Sandra stands up abruptly and introduces herself at once. SANDRA (smiles) Hi, my name is Sandra Czeck and you must be Jared. JARED (ignores her) ANNE! What time will this contest end? ANGELA Um, I don’t know. SANDRA Uh, I think it will end at 5 or 5:30. JARED (turns around and looks pissed-off) I am not asking you Miss. ANGELA JARED! Where are your manners! JARED (sighs and give in) Sorry, I’m having a terrible day. (turns to Angela) Anne we have to go back, my dad’s furious. I have to explain this disaster. (touches his head) Dane’s really good to not show up. ANGELA Oh...So that’s her name.
