New Member Training  Chamber offices Get Involved…..Get Results

 

Our goal today is to: 





 

Have a thorough understanding about the benefits of the Chamber. Understand the different committees and functions of Executive Circle, Board of Directors and Staff. Demonstrate the different methods of communication and benefits. Help you make the right connections. Be able to recognize opportunities to suit your needs and find the value in your Chamber investment.

Committee Functions Getting involved with committee functions serves as a key opportunity to network and grow your business. By choosing an area that interests you, puts you with like you minded professiona professionals. ls.  Also a great way to “show off” off” your talents talents and capabilities.

 

Committees: Legislative Legislativ e Affairs This is the lobbying committee of the Chamber Chamber.. The committee frequently with local governmentmeets leaders and legislators to ensure proper legislation of the business environment. Chair: Brad Mortensen – Qwest Meets: First Thursday of the month at 7:30 am and during Legislative session twice weekly.

 

Committees: Military Affairs Committee   Because Hill Air Force Base is such a large part of Davis County, a committee is used to ensure proper communication with the leadership of the base. The committee frequently sponsors networking opportunities and fund-raising events in conjunction with other entities that support the base. This committee is in conjunction with the Ogden Weber Chamber. Chair: Rick Hartle – Logistic Specialties Meets: First Monday of the month at 5:30 pm

Transportation Committee This committee addresses the transportation t ransportation issues that affect the Wasatch Front. Chair: Gary Pet Petersen ersen – Adams & Peterson CPA CPA’s Meets: Second Tuesday of the month at 7:30am

Economic Development This committee partners with Davis County in the development of the county county.. Chair: Brad Wilson – Destination Homes Meets: Second Thursday @ 3:00 pm various locations Sub-Committees: 1-Retain & Expand Business

Committees: Leadership Institute This committee provides profound community and leadership training for future leaders in Davis County. County. Chair: Kim Bowerbank – Vital Solutions Meets: Monthly

Business to Business Expo The Business to terrific Business Expo committee plans and manages this networking event scheduled in in February each year. Chair: Mike Call – Merrill Lynch Meets: Monthly

 

Committees: Women in Business Professional Leadership  A committee de designed signed to deal deal with women women in the workplace workplace opportunities.. This allows opportunities allows for mentoring and netwo networking rking opportunity for women. Chair: Julie Batchelor-Hometown Values Meets: Luncheons monthly on second Thursday

Leads Lunch This group meets weekly at both North and South end of the County to exchange leads and build business relationships. Chair: Mark Appelbaum / Ron Coleman/Mark Aspittle

 

Committees: Lakesiders The official ambassador group of the Chamber provides ribbon cutting and (by welcomes dignitaries and VIP’s to services, Davis county invitation only). Chair: Shirley Bouwhuis-Logistic Bouwhuis-Logistic Specialties
