Hunger
 Bowl
 is
 Back
 and
 Hungrier

Than
 Ever
 Before

For
 many,
 November
 is
 a
 time
 for
 family-‐

gathering
  celebrations
  centered
  around

Thanksgiving.
 It’s
 a
  time
  for
 festive
 meals

and
  getting
  together
 with
  family
  and

friends.
  However,
 for
  many,
  November

serves
 as
 a
 reminder
 of
 their
  constant

state
 of
  hunger.

More
 than
  125,000
  people
 in
  the

Northeast
 Georgia
  community
 will
  have

nothing
  to
  eat
 on
  this
  traditional

American
  holiday.
  We
  find
 this
 number

too
  alarming
 and
 hope
  you
 do
 too.
 That

is
 why
 we
 started
 the
  Hunger
 Bowl
  in

2012,
 to
 help
  ensure
  there
  was
  enough

food
  for
 everyone
  during
  the
  holidays.

In
 the
 first
 year
 alone,
 2012,
 the

Hunger
 Bowl
  raised
 a
  total
 of
 75,820

pounds
  of
 food
 to
 feed
 children,
  senior

citizens
  and
  the
  working
 poor.

Since
 its
  onset,
 the
  Hunger
 Bowl
 each

year
 has
 raised
  amounts
 of
 food
 larger

than
  ever
 anticipated.
  That
  is
 why
 this

year
 we
 set
 the
 bar
 high.

The
 2014
  Hunger
 Bowl
 goal
 is
 not
 to

raise
 50,000
  pounds
 like
 in
 2012,
 or

70,000
 like
 in
 2013,
 but
 to
 raise

120,000

 pounds.

This
 year
 we
 are
 hoping
 to
 see
 new

organizations
  and
  businesses
  alike

entering
  in
  the
  friendly
  competition.

Last
 year,
 we
 had
 a
 total
 of
 67
 teams

representing
 a
  total
 of
  9,400
  people.

In
 order
 to
 reach
 this
 year’s
 high

goal,
 the
  Food
 Bank
 needs
 the
 help
  of

the
 entire
  community
 to
  ensure
 we
 are

able
 to
 meet
 the
 need
 of
 our

community.

If
 your
 business
  or
  organization

would
 like
 to
 take
 part
 in
 this
 year’s

Hunger
  Bowl,
