Our guest speaker was Dan Dunn of NYC Parks Department and the
manager of the soon to be completed Ocean Breeze Track facility. Without
exaggeration, this is quite an impressive project and will certainly be a
recreational asset to SI. Access to the facility will be included in the
standard NYCPD membership. Job opportunities will also be posted prior
to the scheduled opening in the Fall.
Steve Noldenburg and Judy Clark provided updates on the March
Community Council meeting, where SIDOT Commissioner, Tom Cocolla
was in attendance. The safety “bells” on Hylan Boulevard and the NYPD
cameras located at the Grant City train station were discussed concerns.
One of the ever-present faces at our meetings, Carmine Raimondi, has left
his position at Assemblywoman Malliotakis’ office, for a new job at NYC
Parks. We wish him the best of luck!
We still need to fill the vacant Vice President position. Anyone interested,
please contact any Board Member.
