Welcome to your Autumn Issue of NRBM.Well it’s been a dry Summer and we’d like to thank all the SES and other volunteers who have helped hundreds of people keep safe during the fires we experienced throughout the region. The sunny weather did mean tourists came out in force which is good for the region and our local economy, but I think we’re all enjoying the cool down into Autumn. In this issue our cover feature is on Nortec who are known throughout the region for providing excellent recruitment and training services. What you may not know is that they have a major support services unit to help grow and develop new businesses in the region from perfumer to eco tours. They also have a youth program which both helps with training and employment opportunities and also at a community level keeping local youngsters in touch with their communities. See pages 18-19 to find out more. This issue we introduce some new columnists for you, we welcome David Copperthwaite from Nickel Energy who loved his job so much he bought the company. David is an expert on helping businesses make the most of green energy opportunities. We also welcome Adam Bradfield from TNR who joins us as our accounting specialist looking into ways to help businesses avoid the pitfalls of accounts procedures.I’d also like to announce the imminent launch of our new Northern Rivers Business News service, NRBN. We’re very excited about NRBN, our new regional business newsfeed which will keep you up to date with issues that affect your region direct to your inbox. Subscribe now and go into the draw to win a fantastic iPad Mini.In Business Matters this issue we have a host of information to help your business from Business Efficiency and Finance to Employment and Marketing.Until next time have a prosperous Autumn.
