quantitative techniques was used to determine the numeric findings from the sample size of
ten (10) both males and females within the age range of 18 – 60 years.
To support the methodology, Primary Data Gathering Processes was used in the form of:
Observation and
Questionnaires
Questionnaire (see specimen in Appendix i-iii) was selected as the research instrument
because it consists of several questions which allow for respondents to provide accurate and
meaningful data. The aim was to select the best research instrument that is best able to
capture and gather information in the time frame allotted.
The data collection process spanned in excess of two (2) weeks. Questionnaires were
dispatched to the company representative for its staff members ranging from management,
administration and the manufacturing departments to administer and capture the relevant
information asked. The staff members were asked to complete the instrument within their
time schedule and return to the assigned company representative who collected the
instruments and package for the attention of the researcher.

COMPANY EVIDENCE AND/OR REGULATION

Several set legislations govern manufacturing companies that is enforced for the benefit of all
stakeholders involved.
A particular legislation governing the work place is that all vehicles are required to park face
out, which is in an effort to minimize risks that may arise from unforseen eventualities. The
company also has legislation on safety procedures as all employees and visitors are required
to wear safety gears (boots) when entering the manufacturing plant.
The candidate became aware of the above legislations due to keen observation when
employees and customers drove onto the premises and the type of apparel persons were
presented with or entered the plant in.
A health and safety practice observed while undertaking the project is that all employees
wore gloves, protective head covering (hair nets) and safety boots (hard boots) provided to
each person entering the manufacturing plant.
The researcher had to comply with one staff rule whereby visitors had to position themselves
to the left of the building to prevent or minimize interference with production workers.

WRITTEN REPORT
Employees of Ojay Koolers Limited (8 Walkers Road) were issued a total of ten (10)
questionnaires to administer ranging from different personnel levels from a wide crosssection of departments. The questionnaire had a total of 10 questions (see appendix i-iii)
some in parts which are follow ups to previous questions. Of the dispatched 10 questionnaires
6 or 60% was returned with 30% of the amount untouched and the other 30%
partially/untouched completed (see Pie Chart graph No.2)
A logical reason was not forthcoming for the remaining four (4) which was unreturned (see
graph No.1) Some reasons can be found in the below limitations however, one main concern
by most respondents as per information received from the company representative, was that
they believe some questions were too direct and this would ask of them to give out too much
information.

Based on the above and the below report, the findings of the research are inconclusive.
However from the answered questions one can safely say that the aims of the project was
unearthed, as there is a correlation or a direct relationship between the operations, transport
and despatch departments. This is mainly due to the effective communication tools in place
(memorandums, telephone, emails and face-to-face) which staff members utilize to
effectively execute the job as the need arise. A determination can be made that systems are in
place as to how each department liaise, the frequency (daily and as the need arise) and the
methods used to communicate. This was noted from the answered questionnaires and also
observed while visiting the company on several occasions.
However, the measures utilized to ensure quality of goods are maintained, remains uncertain
due to the non response of the question. Research by the researcher (see appendix v )
unearthed and (http://www.finditinjamaica.com/ojay_koolers.htm) indicates that it is possible
that every batch (frequency) of product from the product line is tested, which is done in an
effort to ensure that customers receive nutrition for the entire family, which also depicts that
the company ensures that quality of goods are maintained.
