ONLINE VERSUS ONGOUND COURSES There are many advantages and disadvantages of being an online student. The first thing you should think before taking this option is: are you sure? I think that if you are a person that job and you work all day has a you can take this opportunity because you can study in your own home. The advantages for me are, that you can study anytime, no matter if it is night or day; the precise time of classes depends on the student´s desire; the course is available all day, if you have a doubt you can contact your teacher by e-mail; you´re in a cybernetic world, which is a new world that you are getting to know, so you will become a more hard-working person. Another advantages are that the classwork will be scheduled around work and family; also online courses are a form of distant learning, for example if you live in Uruguay, but you are on vacation in Brazil, and you are still studying and also you are in another country, and online courses require you to be responsible for your own learning. When you are talking about online courses you can find a lot of disadvantages too, here I will show you some of them, you are not with your teacher in face to face contact; often they are more expensive than regular classes; if you don´t have internet connection you can´t study, also learners with low motivation can fail. Another disadvantages are: slow internet connection or an old computer can make you feel frustrated, the teacher may not be available when you are needing his or her help, you need to have technical skills, you don´t have personal contact with people, and online courses require you to be an active learner.

ONLINE VERSUS ONGOUND COURSES There are many advantages and disadvantages of being an online student. The first thing you should think about before taking this option is: are you sure this is your best choice? It can be very appropriate if you are a person that has a job and works all day, but not everyone will benefit from this kind of course. I think that the main advantage is that you can study at any time regardless whether it is day or night, as the precise time of the classes can be scheduled around work and family considering the twenty-four/seven availability of such a course which can be taken from your own home. Although there is no face to face contact with the teacher, he can be reached by mail if any doubt should arise. This cybernetic world is a new reality we have to get to know and learn to use to become more efficient people. Another advantage of online courses is the fact that, as they are a form of distant learning, the place is not an issue. Therefore, you may be in another country from the one you enrolled and still not miss a class. For instance, if you are Uruguayan but you are on vacation in Brazil, you need not drop out from the course. Nonetheless, when talking about online courses, you can find a lot of disadvantages too. Not having face to face contact may be one of them. Very often these courses may be more expensive than regular ones. Not to mention technical problems students may have, such as a slow connection to the internet, an old computer which does not have all the tools required, or worse still, lack of computer skills, which may amount to great frustration. Not everybody has the makings of an online student. To be one you need to be an autonomous, active learner as the support of teacher and peers may not be at hand on the spur of the moment. A successful one will have to fend for himself until help comes his way.
