JOB DESCRIPTION Operations Assistant Seasonal – March-October Ravenswood Event Services, Duff Entertainment, and Shop Class are three interconnected companies that are organized under one roof and share a common vision – to become an integral partner with our clients, filling roles as necessary and providing seamless and complimentary services in production, entertainment and marketing. We are seeking paid production assistant candidates for all three divisions for the spring, summer, and fall of 2013. The ideal candidate should have the ability to work independently, have strong communication, organizational and customer service skills, and be team oriented. We are looking for forward thinkers with an entrepreneurial spirit. The employee must be able to maintain composure and remain calm under pressure, meet deadlines, and think creatively for event and operational problem solving. The operations assistant helps with the preparation of gear and supplies for each event, and is mostly based out of the Ravenswood Events offices. The operations assistant must be good at multi-tasking and planning. Start and end dates are negotiable but preference will be given to those candidates who can commit to the entire season. No positions will be given for a period of less than 10 weeks. Each positions pays $11/hr. Hours per week will vary, but will generally be range from 16 hours per week to 40+ hours per week during peak periods. Assistants will be given real hands on experience in a wide variety of roles and responsibilities including: • • • • • • Assisting in setting up and running events Researching and sourcing equipment and suppliers Providing support for our event team leaders in production, operations, marketing, and entertainment Administering contracts, vendor applications, and permits Community Marketing including facebook, twitter, etc. Managing special projects as assigned Requirements • Must have reliable transportation to events and Ravenswood offices (access to a car and valid drivers license preferred) • • • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends Knowledge and/or background in event management/event production is a plus Computer knowledge (MS Word, Excel, Social Media, PowerPoint) Benefits School credit (if applicable) Potential for full time position Examples of past events include: Taste of Chicago, Chicago Air & Water Show, Taste of River North, Palatine Street Festival, Scarecrow Festival, Taste of Oak Brook, Chicago Ideas Week, Cubby Bear Wrigleyville, Durty Nellie’s, Navy Pier Beer Garden Ravenswood Event Services 1100 W Cermak Rd.
