Pump Installation Eliminates
Need for Thru-Tubing Services
or Workover Rig
Objectives
• Increase oil recovery and production rates without the need for a
workover rig or thru-tubing services in a well that has experienced
significantly diminished production rates.
• Clean up the well and recover the fracturing fluids.
• Perform work on short notice and in a challenging environment.
Results
Weatherford’s CT jet pump was installed and
optimized with no downtime to achieve a
threefold increase in production level.
• Weatherford design a coiled-tubing (CT) jet pump installed
on the X-nipple profile, thereby reducing the bottomhole
assembly (BHA) cost.
Location
Tunis
• In only 8 hours, the well was completed with the jet pump BHA
and production flow returned in the customer flow line.
Well Type
Onshore
• Based on the test result, the free CT jet pump was retrieved,
optimized, and then sent back in the well hydraulically without a
need for workover rig or CT unit.

9 5/8-in. and 7-in. liner
Tubing Size
3 1/2-in. 9.3 lb/ft

• Weatherford’s rigless installation of CT jet pumps provided the
client significant cost savings and caused no downtime. The
pumps were installed as part of existing downhole tools, and
completion strings did not have to be changed or retrieved.

1 1/4-in. CT jet pump, set on the X-nipple profile
with a stinger
• Per recommendations from field test data, the CT jet pump has
been optimized on-site with no downtime to achieve a threefold
increase in production level.

4,400 ft (1341 m)
• Responsiveness to client's needs and high mobilization rates of
equipment to the field allowed the completion of the work within
given timeframes.
