TELEPHONE CADDY CONSTRUCTION 1. Cut all glass pieces. Accurate measurements are important. Foil each piece with 3/8" copper foil. Tin all foil surfaces. 2. Tape together sides D, A, C, A to form a rectangle as shown. (Figure 1) C will be taller than the other pieces. D and C fit to the inside of the A pieces. (Figure 5-A, page 12) 3. Place base B on top; tape in place. Tack solder all together; remove tape. (Figure 2) 4. Tape E side pieces on edges of base. They should be above piece A and outside the ends of piece C. (Figure 3) Do not tack solder yet. 5. Tape F piece on back of base. It should be above piece D and between the ends of the E pieces. (Figure 3) Tack solder. 6. Tape divider E in place about 3 1/2" from left edge. Tape divider G in place about 2" down from top. (Figure 4) (Divider E could be placed elsewhere and piece G could then be lengthened or shortened to meet your own space requirements.) Tack solder. 7. Remove all tape and solder entire unit together, inside and out. Fill all joining lines with solder. Clean; patina if desired.

SPECTRUM GLASS SUGGESTIONS The plain telephone caddy takes 2 sq. ft. of glass. We used 134W (Med. Blue Waterglass®) for our photograph. Other Waterglass or Baroque™ colors would look equally good. The floral version requires 2 1/2 sq. ft. of the dominant glass A and 1/4 sq. ft. of glasses B and C. (This floral design coordinates with the floral matchbox holder and the floral file card box. The same glasses are recommended for all three, creating a matched set.) 307s (White opal) was used for glass A, 152G (Red Cathedral, Granite) for glass B, and 339-6s (Blue wispy) for glass C.

THIS CADDY HOLDS MOST HAND MODEL TELEPHONES. TO ACCOMMODATE OTHER STYLES, EXPAND THE CADDY’S WIDTH BY ADDING EQUAL AMOUNTS TO PIECES B, C, D, AND F. All other pieces remain the same. More glass would be required.
