WHAT’S HAPPENING
n Buzz Stone, Chari Miles and Friends will be singing from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on April 29 at the Pleasant View U. B. Church. The public is invited to listen and enjoy country and old time gospel music, with refreshments afterwards. The church is located 3/4 mile east of M-66 on Adams Road, with is approximately 3.5 miles north of the junction of M-66 and M-46 at Six Lakes, or 8.5 miles south of the M-66 and M-20 junction in Remus. n The Mecosta Area Committee is well on its way for plans for Mecosta Days 2012. Mecosta Days will be held Aug. 3-5. We have plans shaping up for 3 days of events. Mecosta Days will kick off on Friday Aug. 3, with Music on the River, a farmers market and movie at the new library. Saturday, Mecosta Area Committee is bringing the Ultimate Air Dogs to perform. This is a dock-jumping sport that has exploded across the country since 1997. It’s a family-friendly atmosphere. Dog lovers are encouraged to participate with their dog in a special event for dogs of all breeds (mix or purebred) and any size. Registration forms for this event are available online at www. ultimateairdogs.com. In addition to this event there will be crafters displaying and selling their goods all on the streets of Mecosta. There will be kids games on the grounds of Morton township hall, the new Library is having an art contest for children K-12, there will be a Bark in the Park at Bromley Park. On Sunday a Gospel Sing will be held in Bromley park with refreshments afterward. Awards will be given out for the Kids Art contest at the Library. Operation Homefront will be here to collect food, paper supplies, diapers etc; as well as accepting monetary donations to help the families of Michigan whose loved one has been deployed. Females are $125.00 which includes all of the above as well. $10.00 is required for Montcalm County Residents for the Dog License at the time of adoption. Male cats are 70.00 which includes FVRCP vaccine as well as a rabies vaccine and the neuter Surgery. Females are $75.00 which includes all of the above. In some cases an animal may need extra treatment such as for ear mites or fleas or an injury, in that case the adoption price may be more.

Yuri and Ivan are two Russian Blue kittens that were released to the shelter. Both have lots of energy, so we are looking for a new home that has time and desire to offer those adorable boys a second chance. Both are 8 month old and weigh about 7 pounds.
