Something else I wrote that was bouncing around in my head for a while. I wrote it during my creative writing class a year or two ago.

Clayton D Colmon April 9, 2006 Creative writing Untitled? -There is a man who lays emptied. Fallen, battered and broken across the cracked concrete, he cries. Unable to stand the sun, He tries to hide as it shines on him and brings backs memories of a now ruined life. Devoid of strength, he lays prostrate and endures it. -People walk by Going about their daily lives, they are inconvenienced by his pain. And as they mumble quiet whispers of disgust, He feels heavy. -He was once just like them. Now their words burden his chest as his breaths become labored. Stung with every sideways glance, kicked with every adverted eye, he silently pleas for their attention, wanting to make them understand. -He too ignored instances of suffering. Passing them by in hopes that they would disappear, he slowly became numb. And as apathy sucked him dry, his heart transformed into a barren dessert of cold indifference. -His empathy died, and without it, so did he. Now, lying there in the shoes of someone else He can’t help but notice how well they fit. Unloved, Unwanted, Uncared for, he fades away unnoticed as another falls into his place. -There is a man who lays emptied….
