Powder metallurgy is a manufacturing process in which the desired materials are
produced from metallic powders. In this process, materials are in powder form which are
compressed into the required shape and then heated in a controlled atmosphere to bond
the powdered materials to produce hard and rigid materials.
Importance of powder metallurgy:

Desired shape of parts can be obtained.
Parts can be obtained with an operated porosity level.
Provides easy way of processing of certain metals which are difficult to process
by some other processing methods.
Unusual alloys can be formed which are not easily formed or produced by
conventional alloying methods.
