PRODUCTION MANAGER The Studio Theatre seeks an experienced individual to help lead the organization’s 12-member production team and serve as a resource for the Producing Director. The Studio Theatre annually produces 11 works in 4 intimate venues, none of which seat more than 200. The Studio Theatre is a $6M, 38-year-old not-forprofit located in DCs hot Logan Circle neighborhood and is the premier venue for contemporary theatre in the Nation’s Capital. ___________________________________________________________________________ Responsibilities: The Production Manager will: Organize Production Department activities to make most efficient and effective use of Theatre resources. Work with Producing Director and Assistant Production Manager to create and implement annual and show-by-show budgets and schedules. Communicate daily with Theatre leadership, production staff, stage management, and shops (all on site). Coordinate and lead Production Department meetings and events. Hire, contract, and train over-hire part time staff, interns, and apprentices. Oversee acquisition and maintenance of Production equipment and technology. Supervise and evaluate members of the Production Staff. Special projects include shepherding international tour events, Annual fundraising Gala, Theatre’s Safety Committee, etc. Qualifications needed: Leadership; team building; judgment; ability to listen; multi-tasking; and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret scenic drawings, light plots, technical equipment inventories. Experience interacting and working with high-level contacts, including board members and artists.  Excellent written and oral communication skills (both in person and on the phone).  Strong work ethic. Tech periods require night and weekend work hours.  Superior computer skills, with experience working with Microsoft Excel.  A passionate commitment to theater and the mission and programming of the Studio Theatre. ___________________________________________________________________________ Year-round Full-time position.
