PGDM 2012-14 BATCH PRODUCTION AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT OPERATIONS STRATEGY AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT-ARADHANA HOSPITAL PROJECT Aradhana is a private hospital that first started serving the community 30 years ago.Jaspreet, executive director of the board of Aradhana, initiated a strategic assessment of the hospital’s service package, so as to identify the gaps in its capability to provide top-quality service. The study revealed a gap in the hospital’s capability to provide the level of service required by the community particularly because of the lack of bed space and small, inefficient lab facilities. However expansion at its present location was impossible. In the interest of better serving the public, the board of the Hospital decided to relocate from Delhi to Noida. The move to Noida will involve constructing a new hospital and making it operational.Jaspreet must prepare for a board meeting, scheduled for next week. The meeting will address the specifics of the total time for completion of the project. With the help of her team, Jaspreet has developed a WBS consisting of 11 major project activities together with the duration of each activity. The team also has specified the immediate predecessors (those activities that must be completed before a particular activity can begin) for each activity as shown in the following table: Activi Description ty Durati on (week s)
