How different are they really from each other? And how much are they the same?
et’s start off with Judaism, starting with a list that contains some of their general beliefs, held by some, but certainly not all Jews!
"hat #od alone is creator
"hat He is absolutely one
"hat He has no body or bodily shape
"hat He is the first and the last
"hat only to Him may we pray and to no other!
"hat the words of the prophets are true!
"hat the prophecy of $oses is true, and that he is the father of all prophets!
"hat the "orah was given by $oses!
"hat this "orah is not sub%ect to change, and there will never be another "orah from the Creator!
"hat the creator knows all the thoughts and deeds of man!
"hat He rewards and punishes according to the deed!
"hat the $essiah will come& though He tarry, ' will e(pect Him daily!
"hat the dead will be resurrected!
Again, those are the basic building blocks of the Jewish belief, and not all are believed by every Jew! )or e(ample in the three Jewish branches, the *rthodo(, the reform, and the conservative, the reform Jews do not even believe that there will be a $essiah, and instead a time of peace on earth that does not involve the $essiah’s coming to earth! "he conservative Jews hold a wide variety of views on #od, even as to whether or not He e(ists, which would certainly seem to contradict the first of the list of beliefs! 't %ust goes to show how varying the belief system is in the Jewish culture, as it is in our own!

3e to believe that the dead will be resurrected at the time of Jesus’ coming
As you can see there aren’t that many areas that the two religions disagree& however the points that it does disagree upon are certainly ma%or ones! ike the belief, or disbelief in Christ being the foretold savior!
/ow that we have given a general coverage to the beliefs of each side, let’s focus in on what Judaism is about in regards to #od, and what they think Jesus actually was! As well as a closer look at the three ma%or branches of Judaism, and what each believes in regards to the above topics!
Judaism and #od, what do they believe? "hey believe a lot of things that are similar to ours, "hey believe in there is a #od that e(ists, and that He is the only one that does e(ist, there is no other, and there are not multiple entities of #od and is merely man’s finite mind attempting to e(plain the infinite! 't is believed that #od is the creator of everything, including evil and that satan was instead not the creator of evil! "hat although the 5ible speaks of attributes of #od, such as hands 1'saiah K+K.I,2 feet etc! that since none of these were physically observed by the prophets of the 5ible, that #od must then be a spirit with no bodily form, and all of these descriptions are instead human error trying to describe #od to make it easier to understand #od’s work, along with this that #od is also neither male nor female, but is only described in feminine, or masculine terms for simplicity! #od is also believed to be everywhere at all times, as well as all powerful, e(cept for the ability to force you to do something, that He is said to not be able to do! He is also capable of knowing all, past, present and future, as well as our thoughts! #od is both %ust and merciful, both balanced in perfect harmony as well as eternal, #od is, was, and what is to be, He is Holy and perfect! "hat sums up the general beliefs about #od that are held by many, but of course not all Jews! /ow however let’s see their views on Jesus, what He was, and why they don’t accept Him!
#enerally Jesus is viewed as either a false $essiah or false prophet, He is viewed this way due to the 8fact9 that Jesus did not fulfil the $essianic prophesy, He was supposed to rebuild the third temple, return the Jews back to their homeland from which they were scattered to, end hatred and bring world peace, as well as spread the word of #od to all humanity, uniting human kind as one! As well He did not meet the prere-uisites for being the $essiah, since He is said to have been born a virgin birth, He has no father, which would go against the prere-uisite that He is to be a descendant from 6ing 0avid! As well, it is said that He did not observe the 8"orah9, and fre-uently went against the commandments claiming them to be not important in observing them, as well since the general belief is that #od is 8one9, Jesus claiming He is the :on of #od is blasphemy, and also causes Him to be claimed a false prophet! However Jesus isn’t fully thought of this way all around, He is sometimes thought of as a good guy who helped lead the people closer to "orah observance!
/ow that we have covered the general beliefs of Judaism, and Judaism’s views on #od, lets over each of the three associations of Judaism, listed from oldest to newest& *rthodo(, eform, Conservative, ' will be writing a brief over view of history of each and the general beliefs of each, as well as each associations views of #od! As for their view of Christ, each holds practically the same view, so ' will not be enlarging on that at this time!
*rthodo(, dates back to Gnd and 4th centuries, was the only version of Judaism until appro(imately the th century, generally attempts to maintain the traditions of old, and generally believes that the "orah was given to man from #od directly! 5elieves that #od is a spirit with no form, He is omnipotent, omnipresent, eternal, person and compassionate!
eform, 0ates to the late th century, it was looking to moderniMe Judaism, and thus stem the threat of assimilating upon Jewry in #ermany! #enerally believes that the "orah a record kept by man to preserve the history, culture, legends and hope of the people! 5elieves that there can be multiple views of the god concept, ranging from naturalists to mystics, from supernaturalists to religious humanism, believes that 8the truth is that we do not know the truth!9
Conservative, dates back to the th century following the e(tremely assimilation of the Jews during the Holocaust attempting to be a middle ground by adopting some modern but keeping some traditional views! "he Holocaust was a time in history in which Jews among others races and nations were rounded up, concentrated in areas then either killed by gas chamber, shooting, burning, among other forms of murder, or sent to labor camps and killed later, most usually by starvation lack of nutrition,
or the gas chamber when they no longer were able to produce! "his is a ma%or point in Jewish history as it not only was a very difficult time but it also showed to the world the great residence of the Jewish faith! "here is no definite number to -uote as to how many Jews died during this time, but it has been estimated to be at least I million, however some say there could be more, and others less, all that is apparent is that it was sad time in both Jewish and non.Jewish history, that '’m sure we all pray will never happen again! Conservative Jews hold the belief that the "orah "orah was given to man by #od, but was interpreted by man, and thus has a human element to it! #od is viewed in a fle(ible way, but not as much as reform is, He is also viewed in a non.dogmatic view& however #od is viewed in a non.person, ineffable point of view!
