Each
retread
plant
was
immaculate
and
made
me
proud.
I
took
many
photos
at
the
Goodyear
OTR
Centre
in
North
Bay
and
will
be
including
a
few
in
our
next
newsletter.
Our
membership
continues
to
grow
and
we
are
now
up
to
225
members
with
more
being
added
on
a
regular
basis.
We
continue
to
phone
at
least
three
members
daily
as
our
way
of
keeping
in
touch
and
letting
them
know
we
are
always
ready
to
be
of
service.
We
do
this
because
be
believe
in
being
a
HIGH
SERVICE
ORGANIZATION.

Keynote
speakers
included
representatives
from
the
Spanish
Ministry
of
Industry,
Tourism
and
Commerce,
from
the
Universidad
Miguel
Hernández
(UMH)
and
from
the
companies
Vipal,
Idiada
and
TNU.
The
lectures
dealt
with
related
issues
such
as
the
new
guidelines
and
market
regulations
for
recycled
tyres
in
Europe.
Taking
advantage
of
this
context,
Vipal
presented
its
Eco
line
as
a
product
that
complies
with
European
trends
and
standards.
The
Eco
treads,
exclusive
to
the
company,
play
a
key
role
in
reducing
costs
for
transportation
businesses
and
truck
drivers
as
well
as
forming
part
of
Vipal’s
Transport
Sustainability
project.
Due
to
the
use
of
recycled
materials,
this
product
is
not
only
economical
but
also
contributes
to
conserving
the
environment
and
improving
the
profitability
of
a
fleet’s
activity.
Vipal’s
participation
was
requested
by
the
UMH
who,
via
the
AER,
took
the
initiative
to
create
a
course
entitled
“Research
and
Training
regarding
Recycled
Tyres”
that
has
become
part
of
the
Mechanical
Engineering
degree
offered
by
the
university.

founded
in
1973,
in
Nova
Prata,
in
the
Brazilian
state
of
Rio
Grande
do
Sul.
With
3,000
employees,
the
company
manages
two
factories
in
Nova
Prata

one

a
total
of
almost
160
thousand
square
metres
of
industrial
facilities

five
distribution
centres

being

guidelines

trends

Eco
treads,
exclusive
to
the

play

key

in
reducing

transportation

Bill
Thomas.
Bill
was
a
founding
member
of
Big
O
Tires
and
I
was
privileged
to
have
worked
for
him
back
in
the
seventies.
Bill
is
also
a
past
president
of
the
American
Retreaders
Association
and
was
instrumental
in
putting
together
a
number
of
very
important
policies
during
his
presidency. In
case
you
are
wondering,
Bill
is
still
very
much
alive
and
well
and
remains
a
dear
friend
and
a
mentor
to
me,
as
he
has
been
to
many
others
in
the
tire
business.
Although
now
retired
he
is
far
from
being
inactive
and
recently
completed
a
book
about
his
first
90
years.
It
is
a
fascinating
read
about
a
fascinating
man.
I
only
have
one
copy
but
I'll
be
happy
to
loan
it
to
any
reader

this

who
would

that
was
