FirstCut -Media & Literary Club of KSOM Presents

YUV- Ksom Short film competition Objective  To promote the college on a pan India level.  Involvement of students in organizing and managing events.  The ad-agency contacted for the working will create industry connect which in turn will help in the placements.

Rules and Regulations Date of events: 27th and 28th September 2015. Invited guests: Yet to be decided. Day1     

Inauguration by chief guest Address by Director and Jury Members Inaugural performances. Screening of short films of top 15 teams. Quiz for audiences

Day2     

Workshop on short film making/advertisements. Non-competitive section. Movie quiz for audience(initiative by first cut) Performances. Award ceremony.

Top 15 short films will be screened for two days on KSOM Campus. The registration for short films will open on 1st September, 2015 at 11 am and will close on 22nd September, 2015 at 11 pm. The registration process includes filling up the following details in the link provided: Name of the group Captain of the group Name of film Name of College Email Id of captain Contact number of Captain Alternative contact number Filmography of Director

Name of Director Name of script writer Name of DoP Each team should be represented by a maximum of 6 members. However, teams are allowed to involve any number of persons for the completion of the short films. The participants must upload their respective short film by the upload link, by 8 pm of 22nd September, 2015. The teams need to upload the movie and as well as send DVDs for participation. Only one entry per group is allowed. Duration of the short film should be a minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of 9 minutes (including opening and closing credits). Theme of short film: Understand “US” (Problems faced by Youth these days) Participants can record their own music for the films or they may use pre-recorded music. However, in case of pre-recorded music, the name(s) of original composer(s) must be mentioned in the end credits. Teams must also have one poster of the film, softcopy. Poster details: A3 size Points will be awarded for posters and short film 2 DVDs should be sent by 25th September through courier with Team Name, Movie Name, Captain Name and Contact details of the team, to the address:

DVDs will not be returned after submission in festival. The short film must have been completed after 1st March, 2013. Participants can use digital camera (higher than 480p video capture) or any type of video or film camera. Integrated microphone of camera or external microphone should be used for recording. Shooting through mobile phones is not allowed. Teams must present original works and must not infringe third party’s rights. No obscene, indecent, pornographic materials should be presented in the films. Defamatory statements about persons, organizations or other entities are not allowed.

Prize money worth Rs 50000 to be won. Certificates for top 15 teams. Certificates for competitive and non-competitive section.
