Safety at work place
In our hurry to achieve our daily targets we do compromise on few things which may prove costly for the organization or for ourselves. One of such things which is compromised mostly is safety on while working. History reveals number of major accidents which had occurred due to such small ignorance by the person on work. This ranges from fatal accident to minor injury on a work place in an organization. In my short carrier in manufacturing company I could recall number of such accidents in which many workers insert their hand which got struck in the moving machine just to save time and resulting in getting a wound or major cut on their body part. Today when I think about all possible reasons for the putting their body in danger then I could only think it could be either due the variable pay which put pressure to perform better than others, or preoccupied mind in a lot of things or tension of the tomorrow or any other such a reason. But do we think consequences of such events on our lives or lives of other persons related to us. Whenever I think about safety I think about ignorance and when ignorance comes into mind I could think of a supervisor in my organization who got expired due to one of most silly activity. I could briefly explain the incident as welding job was carried out and the welder was unable to get the desired angle on the job. So this supervisor holed the job with naked hands and when welder stopped after a layer of weld the supervisor was found to be dead. Know what could be reason, is it because of 420V current which was supposed to be earthen by the wire was earthed by his body or some other reason was there? The simple reason was that guy ignored importance of welding gloves which would have stopped the flow of current from his body. Now who have to bare the loss, the one who died in few seconds or the family of the person? The point I want to say is while working we tend to ignore importance of small thinks which some time result in fatal accident. If point is not clear lets share other example work was carried on a bridge and road below it was not cordoned. Now accidently hacksaw fell from hand of a worker which landed few feet away from the person passing under it. The person would have been spot dead if it had fallen on him. We could also see number of construction workers die every year by falling from heights, this happen because they ignore importance of safety belt and safety net. Thus I would like to say that we don t only put our lives in risks but also lives of other persons at risk by simply not following safety norms. I believe life of every person is important and it must not be put into danger due to small ignorance in safety. In the end I request all the readers of the blog to consider safety first while working.
