Self Confidence

Dr. William Sy November 28, 2010 2 Timothy 3:10-17 10 But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, 11 persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra— what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. You are created to solve problems, not to create one. Know your assignment Your assignment is to solve all the problems you were created to solve while on this planet Earth Be convinced and persuaded Know your dominant gift Discover your difference from others Your significance is not your similarity with another, but your point of difference to them. It could be organization, computer, communication, administration, etc. Identify your persuasion Self-confidence is the key Mastering your subject is your sealed strength in the center of your belief system Exploration and Experimenting is not You have to know more about your chosen subject than any other around you to generate confidence Ways to build your self-confidence 1. Recognize your creator wants good things for you 2. Verify that your dream is not contrary to the laws of God or man - Do not pursue anything that will trouble your heart, soul and mind - Your conscience must be at peace for your greatest ideas to emerge - Avoid anything that will condemn your inner self, your conscience 3. Fill every conversation with faith, talk about your dream - Words matter - They move you toward your dream or away from it - Your words should continuously reflect hope in your future - When someone speaks to you doubt and unbelief, boldly refute those words. Do not receive them. Replace their evil report with your own good report - Inform others of the great things that are happening in your life - Remember faith is like a muscle that grows and become strong through continuous use - Your words are seeds of feelings 4. Pursue access of those whose fire burns brighter than your own
Who are the most successful people you know? Schedule appointment with them. Lunch with them, interrogate, interview, get information from them - Do not feel obligated to tell them all your plans - Respect and humbly pursue their advice and counsel - Let them light your fire as often as possible 5. Keep your fire burning - Fertilize your dreams - Talk about it - Build it - Don’t expect to light someone else’s fire until you have lit the fire within yourself 4 Kinds of People who Always Fail 1.
