Conference.
Since our last Small Business Conference, rising business confidence globally over the past few years post the 2008 downturn has given way to a realisation that the prospect of economic growth cannot be taken for granted, and that stagnation is a distinct possibility. Even in Guernsey, which has been fortunate to have ridden out the downturn very creditably, business will have to cope with what may be the "new normal". The new normal is an environment where the economic pie does not grow significantly, and where business can only succeed by doing things better than their competitors. Small businesses have very different problems and pressures to large businesses. In this conference we hope to address these issues head on and demonstrate to you how you can better manage key aspects of your business that will assist in ensuring the future prosperity of your organisation. Change management, strategic decision making, leadership, sustainability, legislation and alternative sources of funding are all threads that you will identify with throughout the day. We welcome all members of the business community who are keen to learn, network and share their experiences of business life within the Bailiwick. The day promises to be our best conference yet and we will be delighted to welcome you to what we know will be a stimulating, educational and most importantly, an inspirational event.
