WILL HIGH STANDARDS LIFT THE QUALITY OF FILIPINO EDUCATION?
• High standards will not provide a quick cure-all to the problems in Philippine Schools • They offer the foundation for system wide educational reform • High standards should be the basis for the improvement of curriculum, instruction, classroom materials, teacher education and assessment

• Identify benchmarks of student’s success • Teachers should design engaging instructional activities • Create school climate in which learning and achievement are valued • Standard is not compliance to imposed quotas • It is to produce work that one can be proud of, it is to produce quality
