SWIM POLICIES

SWIM TEST POLICY: For the safety of our swimmers, all children under the age of 14 years old are swim tested. If you do not wish to take the swim test, you must stay in the shallow end of the pool. Parents must be within arm’s reach of swimmers. If you wish to swim in the deep end of the pool, you must be able to swim the length of the pool and tread water/float for one minute. We are happy to retest at any time. Please see the Bulletin Boards at either end of the pool to read the full rules. OPEN SWIM: Full privilege members may participate in open swim. The use of instructional equipment (barbells and kickboards, etc.) is not allowed during this time. Children under age 12 must be supervised by an adult in the pool area at all times. LAP SWIM: This time is for swimming lengths of the pool. If the pool is busy, please remember to circle swim. Each lane can accommodate up to 5 lap swimmers. FAMILY SWIM: This time is dedicated to just families having fun together in the pool with no other types of swim allowed except for one lap lane available for adult lap swimmers. So Moms and Dads bring your children down to the YMCA to have a fun and safe time!
