1.1Hardware Configuration For TX-0204i
TX-0204i is a PCI bus function-full PBX board that provides 2-channel trunk line
interface, 4-channel extension line interface, 2-channel VoIP interface, and 6-channel
voice processing function. In addition, 7 tone plants and SCSA bus digital switching are
also equipped onboard. Through a polling and shared memory technique, up to 16 TX0204i boards can operate simultaneously in a single system -- the maximum number of
lines that can be supported depends on the application, the amount of disk I/O required,
and the power of the host computer used.
The following diagram illustrates the location of connectors and switches (i.e. CON2 to
CON6, SW1 and SW2).

1.1.1 Board Number Setting
Each TX-0204i needs a unique board number to
be identified by the software driver. The
identification number of the first board should be
set to 0 and sequentially incremented to 15 for
each additional board. Adjustment of SW1 for
board number setting is as follows:

1.1.2 TX-0204i Installation
1.

Switch off the system.

2.

Remove the cover of your computer.

3.

Choose a vacant PCI slot.

4.

Position the TX-0204i in the slot with care and align the "Goldfinger" edge
connector with the bus socket.

5.

Ensure the board is firmly installed and aligned.

6.

Repeat above steps until you have installed all desired boards into your system.

7.

Replace the retaining screws previously removed.

1.1.3 TX-0204i Telephone Line Connections
The top RJ45 jack of TX-0204i board supports 2 trunk lines using 8-wire connections,
and the RJ-45 jack at the bottom provides 4 extension lines. The wiring schemes follow
the EIA/TIA T568B. The connection diagram is as follow:

2

1.1.4 TX-0204i Wiring
1.

Connect all subscribed trunk lines to the TX-0204i.

2.

Connect all extension lines to the TX-0204i.

3.

Connect the SCSA bus flat cable (when more than one TX-0204i are installed).

4.

Connect the DC power plug to the DC power jack(i.e. CON6) of TX-0204i.

5.

(optional) Connect an external music source to a stereo audio input jack.

6.

(optional) Connect an external speaker to a stereo audio output jack.

1.2Hardware Configuration For TX-0408/TX-0408i
TX-0408/TX-0408i is a PCI bus compatible PBX board that provides a 4-channel analog
trunk line interface, 8-channel extension line interface, 12-channel voice processing and
call progress analysis. In addition, 2 VoIP units are built on TX-0408i. Seven tone plants
and SCSA bus digital switching are also onboard. Jumper-less setting eases the
hardware configuration. Through polling and shared memory techniques, up to 16 TX0408/TX-0408i boards can operate simultaneously in a single system -- the maximum

TelePCX will announce different greetings, and route calls to different operators for
different time periods and holidays. The default business hours are from 9:00 to 17:30,
with an interval for lunch from 12:00 to 13:00. Weekend is set from Friday midnight to
00:00 Monday morning. The time period is editable by double clicking the data cell and it
should be set in 24-hour format (e.g. 09:00/21:00).

Note:
TelePCX refers to your operating system’s date and time to determine the proper
announcement and routing method for each incoming call. Priority is given first to
holidays, followed by weekend, lunch time, business hours, and finally nonbusiness hours. The first match will determine the announcement and routing.
4.

Setting up trunk Call Handling

For each time period, incoming calls will be routed to the “Auto Attendant”. Double click
on the “Call Handling” data cell to select your call handling mode.
Alternatives for incoming call routing.
Operator, then voice mail: When an incoming call is received, the PBX system will
route the incoming call to the operator first. If the operator does not answer the call
within the time-out limit defined for no answer, the incoming call will then be
transferred to the operator’s voice mailbox.
54

Auto attendant: When an incoming call is received, the PBX system will route the
incoming call to the auto attendant.
Operator, then auto attendant: When an incoming call is received, the PBX
system will route the operator first. If the operator is busy or the call is not

templates must be saved with an appropriate file name, such as “IVRFOD1”,
”IVRFOD2”,…, and ”IVRFOD9”.
StdIVRFOD1-9: Reserved for the standard IVR/FOD templates. Note: The created
templates must be saved with an appropriate name, such as “stdIVRFOD1”,

will be used to represent different departments. When the Auto Attendant picks up an
incoming call, the caller can enter the Department route menu digit (default digit “7”) to
reach the department. You must pre-record a greeting for the department route menu
reflecting the settings entered. This is useful in case the caller does not know the party’s
extension number, but knows the department of the party.

Enter a brief code and an extension/pilot number.

You can either create more departments by clicking Add or you can click Close to

Frequently Asked Questions
How to install multi-board in one computer
Each board has a DIP switch to set up its "Board Number". This board number must be
unique if multi boards are to be installed into one computer. In addition, board number
assignment should start from 1 and increment sequentially by 1.
How to identify logical line number
Logical line number is determined by the board number sequence while loading the
driver. For example, two TD-5260 boards are assigned with board number 1 and 2 in
one system, respectively. In that case, line number of board 1 starts from 1 to 30, and
board 2 starts from 31 to 60.
How to solve the shared RAM conflict problem
Shared RAM is located in upper memory, from D0000 to Dffff, which may be used by
other adapters. So detailed checking of shared RAM conflicts should be made before
installing the board(s).
(1) VGA board
VGA BIOS often occupies c0000 to c7fff. This should be confirmed before installing.
(2) Other adapters
SCSI BIOS, boot ROM of LAN adapter, sound card and any other adapters which have
BIOS onboard will occupy portions of c0000 to Dffff.
(3) shadow RAM
Shadow RAM means the BIOS will copy the adapter ROM to the RAM. This will cause
problems if this area is utilized by the voice board's shared RAM. Disable shadow RAM
options for the memory area occupied by the voice boards.
(4) cache RAM
Some BIOS will ask you to assign 'cache' capability for each memory area. Disable it for
the area between 640KB to 1MB.
BIOS Setup
(1) power saving
Most high end PC BIOS’s support power saving function. Because most interaction of
the voice system comes from the phone line, not the keyboard or mouse, sometimes the
BIOS will misinterpret the system as idle for a period of time if parameters are not set
correctly. Disable all power saving.

94

(2) PCI bus
The PCI bus is designed to be far faster than the ISA bus. Some main boards increase
the PCI bus throughput at the expense of ISA bus speed. So be careful in setting the
PCI bus in the BIOS as not to influence the ISA bus.
(4) shadow RAM & cache RAM
As described in 'solve share RAM conflict.
How to record voice files
During the testing & debugging stage, the “Voice Editor” utility is provided to record
voice files. The VB sample program is also available to record voice files remotely. The
AP can write its own recording tools via TR_RecordVoice() series function calls. It is
highly suggested that the voice file is recorded with the sampling rate format of “CCITT
u-law/a-law, 8,000 Hz, Mono.” If you use a sound card to record .wav files in 8-bit PCM,
mono. /11.025KHz sampling rate format, it is required to use a wave converter utility to
convert them to ADPCM format.
How to edit /truncate /trim voice files
The “Voice Editor” is used to trim unnecessary parts of voice files.
How to play number/money amount
Use the record utility to record the 'numbers' voice file, money units (such as 0 to 9
dollar), and use the "Join Voice" utility to join them to an indexed voice file. Then the AP
can use TR_PlayIndex() to play the specified index string of the indexed voice file .
