TAISM is thrilled to announce the opening of the new Donald and Eloise Bosch Center for the Performing Arts in May, 2012 and is excited to offer an excellent new opportunity for a Theater Technician. Set in our state-of-the art campus located between the foot of the majestic Hajar Mountains and the sandy beaches of the magnificent blue waters of the Gulf of Oman, our new theatre will accommodate both musical and drama performances, and will become an important venue for both our school and outside organizations. If you offer effective organizational, collaborative and relationship management skills combined with the ability to work with students of varying levels of experience - we want you to be part of the TAISM team. Reporting to the Manager of the Bosch Performing Arts Center, the Theater Technician will be pioneering this role in a beautiful new facility, while supporting all the performance and production technical needs, including lighting, sound and rigging. Key to your success will be your talent in safe and efficient management of sound equipment, service and care of all lighting equipment and the ability to meet the needs of the musical and theatrical productions performed in this new facility with creativity and know-how. Accountabilities y Oversees and participates in the construction and fabrication of lighting, props, sets and sound design through the use of appropriate theater techniques Collaborates in the development of production budgets and solutions to design needs. Plans, schedules and ensures timely provision of lighting, props, sets and sound elements to established show standards. Leads and trains support staff and student crews. Ensures proper use and maintenance of facilities, tools and equipment while complying with health and safety standards.
