THE ART OF MUSICAL PRODUCTION

The musical production more than
knowledge is the art of gives the top
expression to a musical composition. Ìt is
important to know the characteristics of
an artist of the musical production to
determine what thinks and aspects of our
profession must be changed. Many
people know use the recording, mixing
and mastering tools but it is not sufficient,
is needed have the ability of give ideas,
much of this work is to give space to
creativity.

The art of musical production consist in
combine the musical, engineering and
marketing knowledge in a single musical
project.
Roger Nichols a renowned producer,
winner of seven Grammys, said that is
not simply about how to operate the
processing equipment, but when and
what should be used. Science does not
make sense without the art. Another
interesting statement is by engineer

Gleen Meadows, who said "there is
nothing magical bullet of silver. There is
nothing magical or anyone that is "best¨
for all situations. The operator´s ability to
decide what needs doing and choose the
best combination of tools is more
important than the tools used¨.

Musicians, musical instruments, songs,
partitures, notes; recorder, mixing and
mastering engineers, equipment, signal
processors, the monitoring system and
technical recommendations; the country,
the city, the people. All these aspects
should be known by a musical producer,
achieving a balance between the
technical and artistic, between what the
musician wants to convey and what
people want to hear, although many
musicians make music without
commercial purposes and in these cases
the music producer does not have many
options to intervene in concept.

Finally is a duty of the musical producer
use correctly the tools that in many cases
are few due to many factors, for example,
lack of equipment, musicians with little
ability to execute the instrument, etc., and
make with these true works of art, a
product capable of generating a set of
positive emotions to the listener.
