THE COACH CALLED LIFE
Growing up, the first time I heard the word, µCoach¶, it was related to the game of football. Every football team that must succeed is expected to have an effective coach. A coach is someone that poses a challenge to those he coaches, giving them tough tasks, simply because he wants the best of potentials to be displayed. In recent time, among several types of coaches, a group called life coaches have emerged. Over the years, I have come to realize that even those referred as life coaches need coaching. Hence, I discovered a coach for coaches. I call that unique coach LIFE! Life is a coach that begins its lessons in the lives of human at birth, and ends at death. A man should only be regarded as a fool, when he fails to learn the expected lessons from the coach called Life. God is the maker of life. God made life as a testing ground ± where Potentials and Purposes are tested and established. Life is also a battle field. Right from the moment of inception, a battle has been declared for every mortal, born of a woman. Biologically speaking, a new born child fought the battle of survival, before he / she could be delivered to this world of battle. I see people often celebrate (which is not bad, if done rightly), but life is more of warfare than funfare. The coach called Life exposes the wickedness in the heart of men. Life, as a coach would never leave its students the way it met them. Lessons must be learnt, values must be reviewed, choices must be made, objectives must be amended, character must be revealed, and the heart of man must be exposed ± under the tutelage of the coach called Life. Every mortal, born of a woman is automatically a student or participant of tutelage with the coach called Life. I noticed the wickedness in the heart of mortals, and I thank God for the coach called Life. Mortals could be mean! Most mortals are selfish, wanting only their progress and never the progress of others. Some even derive pleasure using the resources of others to climb to the top, not minding what become of the people whose resources they have used. What give me more concern are people best regarded as Unfriendly friends. They are simply friends or relatives that claim to mean well in your presence, but also supervise your downfall in your absence. Life has taught me that your most dangerous enemy is anyone that opposes the manifestation of your divine assignment called destiny. The coach called Life reveals wicked attributes and good attributes, using the agent called Time.

Just like the football coach that is never satisfied until the best potential is visible and displayed, life comes with its daily challenges that would make some stronger, and others weaker. To some, Life is a paradox, and to others, Life is an irony. It is in life you notice that, µsome people with caps don¶t have heads, and some people with heads don¶t have caps¶. Just like the value of the tea bag is not known, until it passes through hot water, the value of a man is not known until he passes through the coach called Life. Life is a coach; we are expected to learn, as long as we live! Life teaches several lessons, at several periods, to several people. The agent used by life to coach man is called Time. Time would tell whether you have learnt from life or not. For instance, Life would make you understand that not all that glitters are gold. Life would make you understand that one rich man in the midst of Poor men, with time, would be considered the poorest among men. Life would make you understand that treasures are birthed from pressure. Necessity, some say, is the mother of invention! Life would reveal the wickedness in the heart of men; Life would reveal the power of finding Purpose, and using your Potentials to achieve destiny. Life also teaches, µif there is life, there is hope¶. But life also makes man realize that every mortal tends to know his birthday, no mortal knows his death- day. In life, one could be born with a wooden spoon or no spoon at all, yet die with a golden spoon. Likewise, one could be born with a golden spoon, only to die with no spoon. One thing of interest is that Life also gives its students examinations. As far as life is concerned, no mortal is an outright success ± every mortal likely have failed some examinations of life, at one point or the other. The easiest examinations are done in the classroom, with specific date and time allotted. The Examinations of Life are unannounced ± they come at will, and your passing them or not is a function of constant readiness. I have seen men regard people that failed the classroom examinations as failure, yet such men have failed many examinations of life. As a matter of fact, life is waiting to give such men a red card in the field of play. The coach called Life has turned many wise men to fools, just the way it has turned many foolish men to wise men. Life is like the Sea, the starting point may be known, but it ending point unknown. Life is a mystery, everyone claims to know, but we all know in parts. A coach gives his students hope and reasons to develop their potentials. Likewise, Life gives hope to man, as far as man is alive to make amendments, decisions and choices. Life would not promote you, until you have passed your previous and current exam. The exams of life come to test your Character, Integrity and Mentality. Such examinations simply come to either make you stand or bend you to shape. One truth is this ± you would never remain the same, after the tutelage and exams of the coach called Life. Man, not Life is limited by Time. The coach called Life, if well followed, reveals true friends and enemies. Life makes one understand that you need enemies to survive. A man without enemies is obviously not living. Enemies are generated to fuel you passion to fulfill destiny. When a man spends all his investments, creating moments of fun, without finding time for thinking, sober reflections and generating strategy for survival, such a man is only digging his grave gradually. Whether Life makes you better or bitter is a function of your choice! The Choices you make or fail to make will always determine or influence the chances you will always get from Life. Yesterday is History, tomorrow is Mystery, but your mastery is determined by the choices you make or fail to make. Wake up from your slumber. The coach called Life tolerates no nonsense. Show me a man that does not value time, and I will show you a man that would likely end in poverty. The problems you are facing in life now are mere bends, they are not meant to pose themselves as an end to your life. Giving up, because of the hard lessons that Life gives you is an expensive luxury you cannot afford! Life will squeeze you to bring the best inside you to manifestation. A wise man would always learn from the coach called Life, and more importantly learn from the creator of Life (GOD). I am consoled with the truth that God is the giver of Life and He will always reward His own! With God, your failure yesterday is an indication that you can succeed tomorrow. I discovered that God loves the ridiculed, and uses time and Life to make such ridiculed become celebrated miracles. What lesson has the coach called Life taught you in recent times? You cannot move forward without learning and applying those lessons. Your best is yet to come, because life has not given up on you. You need grace for this race ± that ends at death, yet is beyond death. It is time you get close to God (the maker of the coach called Life) and ask Him for grace to run successfully the race of life, which is set before you. If you must run win, you must submit your will to the will of God. Remember, Life is a coach, but God created the coach called Life, and the decision of God is final.
