The Inevitability of TomorrowThe novel begins in the early 21.st century with a terrorist nuclear attack that destroys the Executive and Legislative branches of the U.S. government. In the subsequent days of confusion and crisis a Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and three powerful corporate leaders step into the vacuum too rule. With this Justice’s narcissistic ego and his bio-pharmaceutical corporate connections bent on power and control they use voter apathy and fear to shape a Progressive government by enacting ten Executive Orders.The Executive Orders, spanning thirty years dictate and control everything from “State” communication to healthcare. Slowly, incrementally, liberties and freedoms are lost. From birth to grave the State sees, hears, and directs every facet of life. The State knows what you’re thinking and then tells you how to think through the cranial cortex port. People live for the State.There arises resistance to the Executive Orders within the State and three territories, Texas, Kansas, and Oklahoma, (TKO). Refusing to be a part of the new government the TKO succeeded from the Union. One woman who initially was the model State citizen became an object of a powerful man’s obsession, desire and then victim of his injustice. Thinking her family dead and life over, she extracts her revenge as best she can before she escapes to the TKO. Thirty years pass and now Governor General she commands the armies of the TKO confronting the State and injustice she fled. Through her leadership and the alliance of the Resistance that controls the ultimate weapon of pure energy (unknown to her led by her only son) battle for the freedoms and lives of billions of people. Betrayal, deceit, and the savage brutality of a viral computer program download to the limbic lobe and neo cortex results in a dependent homicidal people. The choice of either becoming a hunted inferior species or completely shut down global electromagnetic power grids for a period of years brings mankind to war and the very brink of extinction.Told in the first person and at times by narrative discourse the novel takes on a historical perspective of a possible future of tomorrow.
