The Power of Tomorrow

David May Tammy May Richard Clark

Junior Website

Fossil fuels heated and fed our nation for years. But as these fuels started to become threatened, a new source of energy was needed. This was the beginning of study to develop nuclear energy. In 1905, the first steps were made. Over the years, the reaction of the public to nuclear power has not always been positive. Today, nuclear power has become an essential source of energy for this country and the world. We looked at books in the library. We also looked on websites about the nuclear energy. We decided on this topic because we wanted to tell people what is happening to trees and other living things.

We used a lot of books in our Middle School Library. We also ordered books from the Bemidji Library. We spent time looking up websites for more information. We mostly used our books for information. When we had a hard time looking for a specific thing in our book, we looked for that thing on the Internet and used that paragraph in our own words. We had a hard time finding information on Fossil Fuels.

We chose to make a website because we wanted to learn how to create a website. We made the website with ³Weebly.com´. We had some problems here and there. The first problem was; µWhat is our password

again¶ or µI can`t get on¶, but the most common one was µWe can`t get on it, it is not letting us in¶. We did have some problems, but we know that when we do this again, it will be easier. The Nuclear power research is related to the History Day theme because, the nuclear energy is a reform in the energy resources used worldwide. There has been a mixed reaction, some in favor, and some against, the use of nuclear energy. But we believe that it is the energy of the future.
