Ancient Detox Practice Using Castor Oil
Detoxification has been practiced for thousands of years, but how in the world did our ancestors know about the importance of cleansing? It’s amazing that without any technology, tribes managed to understand the importance of rest, repair, and relaxation. To boost liver detoxification, an ancient detox practice using castor oil is recommended three times per week for the duration of your cleanse. This therapeutic practice improves organ functioning, promotes bile production, enhances lymphatic flow, encourages toxin elimination, and improves digestion. Follow these instructions below: MATERIALS • • • • • castor oil (cold-pressed or expeller-pressed) glass container with lid wool flannel cloth or cheese cloth (large enough to cover your abdomen) heating pad (with a low setting) towel

DIRECTIONS Choose relaxing music of your choice to listen to. Use your Castor Oil Pack in a calm dark room while lying in a comfortable position. Ensure you can fully relax in your space. 1. Cut a piece of flannel cloth so that you can fold it in three. It should cover the entire right side of your abdomen. 2. Pour 1/4 cup of castor oil into a glass container and soak the cloth, but make sure it’s not dripping. You will be able to re-use this cloth for the duration of your cleanse. Place the soaked cloth (folded in three) over your abdomen, especially on the right side to cover your liver. Place a thin towel over the cloth with a heating pad set on low heat over the towel. Many practitioners suggest using plastic wrap over the cloth rather than a thin towel; however, plastic is filled with toxins and the heat may cause the toxins to seep into the castor oil - defeating the purpose of removing toxins from the body. Please use a thin towel rather than plastic and do NOT heat the oil in the microwave. 3. Practice deep breathing exercises for 30-45 minutes with the castor oil pack placed over your liver. The oil is absorbed through your skin and offers extraordinary detoxifying benefits. 4. Once complete, cleanse the area with water and a small amount of baking soda. 5. Consume one teaspoon of extra-virgin olive oil. 6. Replace the pack after 9 uses. Once completed, store it in the closed container in your refrigerator. 3) Mineral oil This ingredient is a by-product of the distillation of gasoline from crude oil. Although the moisturizing feeling that comes with applying it can be appealing, all mineral oil really does is coat the skin and block it from properly eliminating toxins. Anything that clogs pores can lead to toxin build-up. Toxins have been linked to digestive disturbances, skin problems, headaches, difficulty losing weight, and allergies. Note that mineral oil may be listed on the label as petrolatum or paraffin wax/oil. 4) Polyethylene glycol (PEG) Polyethylene glycol is found in many spray-on oven cleaners and is also a favorite chemical in many skin creams.
