Triad HealthCare Network Solves Medicare Reporting Challenge with Proficient Health Solution
New portal makes it easy to gather annual quality statistics
Greensboro - Triad HealthCare Network recently used a new portal that made it easier

to gather patient data for required Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) quality reporting. The portal is a product of Proficient Health, a privately held company specializing in information technology solutions for the healthcare industry. Triad HealthCare Network participates in the CMS Medicare Shared Savings Program as an Accountable Care Organization (ACO). To document that the best care is delivered in the most cost-efficient manner, ACOs must submit a variety of qualityrelated data to CMS for evaluation. Like many ACOs, Triad HealthCare Network includes hundreds of participating physicians who use disparate electronic and paper-based systems to manage patient records – creating a challenge when it comes to collecting the data CMS requires. “Our more than 700 physician members are using more than two dozen different electronic health record platforms, and some still rely on paper records,” says Vice President and Executive Director of Triad HealthCare Network Steve Neorr. “That made it impossible for us to extract clinical metrics from each practice electronically. We also wanted to avoid the time and the risk of error involved in rekeying information from

paper-based data collection forms.” Triad HealthCare Network used an easy-to-navigate Web portal created by Proficient Health so that physician practices could submit the quality information and statistics required by CMS. The information was sent electronically to a company aggregating the data on behalf of Triad HealthCare Network. A brief webinar showed practice administrators how to use the website and quickly submit the information online. “Accountable Care Organizations across the nation are facing the same issue as they try to bridge the various platforms used by participating physicians,” says Proficient Health CEO Robb Hutchison. “We provide a ready solution that can be up and running in a matter of days, with no costly or time-consuming installation. As a result, ACOs can streamline data collection and remove much of the pain from the reporting process.” ###
