Volunteered 6 years in position of Media Assistant in a Charlotte Mecklenburg Mecklenburg elementary school. During two of
those years, my volunteer time amounted to more than 700 hours each year and included two library facility moves. In August 2007, the school had a sufficient number of students to have a part time Media Assistant position and I was paid for what I had been doing the previous years as a volunteer. In July 2008, the position was eliminated with the first round of budget cuts. I continued to volunteer in the media center and tutor.
