Partner, Corporate Department [email protected] Tim Callahan is a partner in, and chairman of, the Global Projects Group at Paul Hastings, and is located in the firm’s Chicago office. He concentrates his practice in the development, acquisition, disposition, and financing of infrastructure facilities, with a particular focus on the energy sector. Mr. Callahan represents owners, developers, lenders, manufacturers, and contractors in all facets of the development, financing, acquisition and disposition of energy and other infrastructure facilities.

Representative Experience • Projects Practice: Mr. Callahan has advised clients on projects related to power plants fired by gas, coal and petroleum coke, coal gasification plants (including IGCC and SNG projects), renewable energy facilities, gas and water pipelines, sports stadiums, water and wastewater plants, oil refineries, and pulp & paper mills. service agreements, real estate leases/easements, and licenses. • Renewable Energy: Of particular note, Mr. Callahan has closed deals in the renewable energy field in connection with more than 70 projects. This experience includes transactions for wind, solar, hydroelectric, biomass, biodiesel and ethanol facilities. In addition to representing clients in the development, financing, acquisition and disposition of renewable energy facilities, Mr. Callahan also advises on Production Tax Credits, Investment Tax Credits, and Renewable Portfolio Standards and related programs. • Privatization/Public-Private Partnerships: Mr. Callahan negotiates and documents complex privatization and public-private partnership arrangements, including those related to convention centers, sports stadiums, hotels, water and wastewater facilities, water pipelines, solid waste transfer stations, tourism venues, and other municipal facilities (including the structuring of tax-exempt municipal bond financing related to privatization). He structures and negotiates outsourcing transactions relevant to the provision of electricity, steam, water, wastewater and other utility services, including energy management outsourcing arrangements.
