Specifications for Toilet Partitions Part One: General 1.1 Scope Specification apply to steel toilet partitions/ cubicles with doors and hardware for fixing and mounting of the panels as per architects design, plans and schedules as manufactured by Shakti Met-dor. The scope of work includes design, supply, installation and handing except civil works. Part Two: Products 2.01 Material and finishes

A. All partitions / cubicles should be made out of first grade quality galvanized steel conforming to ……. All products should be made out of 0.6mm (24g) galvanized sheet. If it is a stainless steel partition or cubicle, grade 304 or 316 should be used and finished to number 4 matt finish.

B. All galvanized steel toilet partitions should be cleaned, phosphatized and finished with one coat of epoxy etching primer of 35-40 microns followed by 35-40 microns of polyurethane paint. All panels/ doors should be oven baked for durability and finish. 2.02 Construction of cubicles General The panels and doors should be constructed out of 25mm thick sandwiched skin with the infill material of honey comb core. The core should be bonded with resin and should have a flat face on either side. Optional material of polyurethane foam if suggested should be of density 40Kg per cubic meter as specified. All panels should have a built in feature to be totally sight proof on all four corners for better privacy. Standard gap of 150mm on sides and on the moving element has to be provided unless otherwise specified or scheduled in the drawing or layout. Cubicles should have a provision for mounting of the toilet hardware like handrails, hinges, locks with indicator, coat hooks, tissue holders and taps as scheduled and specified. All panels should be fully protected with the self adhesive film and to be removed at the handing over of the cubicles. For type of Cubicle to be used, see the model as mentioned below. Models

A. Floor Mounted with legs: The cubicles are mounted on the nylon or stainless steel cylindrical support legs. Support bars on top for stability and integrity which in turn is connected to solid wall support. Wall brackets and corner brackets to be used while assembling the cubicles. In addition the door should have a self closing hinge and an indicator slip latch or bolt with a knob outside.

B. Pilaster Floor mounted with top bracing: The cubicle should be with a pilaster with top bracing taking into consideration the stability of the panels. Top bracing should be connected to the wall for additional support and stability. Wall brackets and corner brackets to be used while assembling the cubicles. In addition the door should have a self closing hinge and an indicator slip latch or bolt with a knob outside.

C. Pilaster Floor mounted without top bracing: The cubicle should be with a pilaster mounting on the floor but without any top bracing for aesthetics. All fixed panels should be connected to the wall and supported by pilasters between each system on the opening side. Wall brackets and corner brackets to be used while assembling the cubicles. In addition the door should have a self closing hinge and an indicator slip latch or bolt with a knob outside.

D. Top Hung: The cubicles should be top hung with the pilaster connected or suspended from the ceiling. Structural support for mounting the pilaster needs to be checked and confirmed by the supplier. Wall brackets and corner brackets to be used while assembling the cubicles. In addition the door should have a self closing hinge and an indicator slip latch or bolt with a knob outside. Part Three: Installation and Warranty 3.01 Installation All cubicles should be checked for dimensional accuracy before start of installation. Any variations in the agreed site conditions or civil structure should be addressed before installing the panels and doors. The internal fittings like WC related works should be completed in all aspects before the panels are positioned. All installation works should be carried out in accordance with the norms set by Shakti Met-dor. 3.01 Warranty The manufacturer Shakti Met-dor should certify that all toilet compartments fabricated are in accordance with specifications set forth and the approved hardware. All materials, workmanship and finishes are guaranteed against any defects for one (1) year from date of delivery or the date of installation which ever comes early, when used and maintained as recommended.
