TRADITIONAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT LIFECYCLE

The graph shows about the level of activity vs. time, the graph mention the critical
activity at what time in the project.
In start phase the initiating processes was take place. At that part the owner was meet the
designer or consultants for discuss about the design of the building and the designer collect the
information before start planning.
The planning process was shaded to show that the important the planning, at the high risk
planning process not much detail we get so in execution process if have any problem the
planning need to repeated back. Another common problem that leads to brittle, hard to maintain
plans is Inappropriate Plan Detail.
The third phase was the execution process, the contractor win the bidding tender get start
on to the project site. Most of the critical construction time was in this phase, this way the graph
show the execution process is higher critical level of activity.
Controlling process happen in the whole of the life cycle begin from initial process until
the closing process. The high critical level of controlling process in the execution phase, at the
execution process the project need to monitor and control with follow the standard and finish on
time with no delay.
Finally, when the planning ended the closing process was take part. In the closing
process, the certification fitness (CF) approve are needed before the building are takeover by
owner. The warranty was document and the contractor gets the commission.

Designer start draws the building plan with the data given from the owner and
submits for approval.
- Tender & Award (-7% ~ 0%)
The contractor was visit the site to collect information before bidding the project. The
tender was bidding, the contractor win the project start select team member.
- Construction + commission (0% ~ +75%)
All the facilities and equipment was delivered to the site, the construction was begin
with the control by the project manager.
Transfer (+75% ~ +100%)
Building was takeover by the owner.
