 Fast Forward to 2012 and the Vikings proposal (HF 2810) GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS AND ELECTIONS COMMITTEE April 16, 2012 GOP Yes: 5; DFL Yes: 1 GOP No: 4; DFL No: 5 Result: DEFEATED 6-9 5 of 9 GOP members vote Yes; 1 of 6 DFL 6 DFL members vote Yes The difference between passage and defeat: 2006: The GOP and DFL put up half of its members as a s yes votes in all but one committee (Taxes, W&M respectively) and the bill passed. 2012: The GOP put up u p half of its members as yes votes, the DFL didn’t live up to its end of the deal, putting up only 1 of its 6 members 6 members as a yes vote. Consequently, the bill failed.

Representative Tingelstad moved that HF2480 be passed and be re-referred to the Committee on Local Government. Representative Tingelstad moved the H2480DE1 Delete Everything Amendment. Representative Knoblach began the meeting at 6:10 p.m. A quorum was not present. HF2480 Finstad (third engrossment) Baseball stadium financing, construction, and operation provided; Minnesota Ballpark Authority established; community ownership option provided; and Hennepin County sales tax authorized. Representative Knoblach requested that Representative Finstad begin his testimony on HF2480, third engrossment. Representative Knoblach called the meeting officially to order at 6:15 p.m. A quorum was present. Representative Dorn moved that the minutes of April 18, 2006 and April 19, 2006 be recommended to pass. THE MOTION PREVAILED. Representative Knoblach moved that HF2480, third engrossment be recommended to pass and be sent to the General Register.
