Poultney. It is open from 9 a.m. through 4 p.m. –
RAIN OR SHINE.
This event, sponsored annually by Poultney Area Chamber
of Commerce, is now a long-standing community tradition.
Throughout the day and throughout the entire community
one can find bargains and surprises at many local businesses,
organizations and home sites (and at visiting vender
spaces on historic Main Street). It is a shoppers’ haven for
all ages. Walk or drive through the Poultney community
and check out its’ every corner for business and yard/ga-
rage sales.
Mary Lee Harris, the Chamber’s event contact spokesper-
son, said that the Chamber has 75 Main Street vender spaces
which are rented and many homes will be participating. She
further said that Williams Hardware has space reserved for
special deals, Stitchy Women will have special yarns on
sale, and Priscilla’s Sweet Shoppe will offer specials. Other
businesses will be participating and Poultney Rotary Inter-
national will hold its Chicken Barbeque in the Citizen’s Bank
parking lot. Fried bread dough will also be available at an-
other space. Mark the date on your calendar and we hope
to see you here - - shopping along historic Main Street
AND throughout Poultney’s entire community.

CHEESE AND SPIRITS- Nettle Meadow Farm, a goat and
cheese dairy, that produces highly-acclaimed and award-winning
cheeses, invites regional makers of wine, beer and cider to partici-
pate in a cheese and spirits pairing in the loft of the farm’s historic
barn on Saturday, June 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Almost mid-way
between Lake George and Gore Mountain/North Creek, the pair-
ing, coupled with Martin’s Lumber Woods Walk held nearby ear-
lier in the day, should draw a significant number of tourists from
both regions. Those interested in showcasing their beverages should
contact the organizers as soon as possible in order to be listed on
the event website and in other advertising and so Nettle Meadow
can find suitable cheeses to pair with each beverage. Please email

cate interest and obtain more details. Participants will be required
to display appropriate permits at the event. The Nettle Meadow
Cheese and Wine Pairing will raise money the Thurman Station
Association, a not-for-profit group that organizes a variety of visi-
