War and Art goes hand in hand
There are many forms of art. You cannot defy art inside some certain boundaries.
Artists use the canvas to express their feelings, their expressions, and their
imaginations. There is no fixed perimeter for a human being’s mind to explore. It
can reach the heights of the sky or the dive far beneath the ocean waters. It can fly
away to ancient times when we used to live in caves or to the future world where
flying cars is a common sight.
An artist’s paintings can depict the wrath of a war. No war is good for us human
and it leaves a mark in the heart of a generation. War affects the integrity of a
nation. It destroys the humanity in many earthlings. An artist can use the power of
his gift to preach about the adversities of war. A powerful image dedicated to war
can have tremendous impact on the minds of people around the world.

When we look in to a piece of artwork depicting stories about war, we feel the pain
inside use. We remain silent for few moments and carry that realization inside our
hearts for a long time. There are many famous artists who made their work eternal
by using war as their subject for painting.
Sir Stanley Spencer lived in England during the tough time of world wars. The
world was at war and every person living in that era had an impact of world wars
in their mind. The setting of his paintings was mainly Cookham, his hometown.
But he served during World War I, which lead to the famous Stanley Spencer
painting, ‘The Resurrection of the Soldiers’.
William Scott was born in Britain but mostly lived in Italy and France. He served
during World War II. He tried to get into navy but got enlisted in the army. The
effects of war can be seen on the many William Scott paintings.
