Idaho State at Washington Post-Game Notes Husky Stadium Sept. 21, 2013
Washington Notes As far as the Huskies stats go back to 1947, the Huskies have amassed over 500 total yards in three-straight games for the first time ever. The 1997 season is the only time UW went over 500 total yards three times (non-consecutive). Washington recorded its first shutout since blanking Washington State 30-0 in the 2009 Apple Cup. It was the Huskies largest margin of victory in a shutout since blanking Oregon 66-0 on Oct. 26, 1974. Interestingly, the year before in 1973, Oregon shutout the Huskies 58-0. With his 37-yard rush on his first carry, Bishop Sankey passed 2,000 yards in just his 28th career game. Only Hugh McElhenny and Chris Polk (24) reached the 2,000 rushing yards plateau faster. Joe Steele also reached 2,000 yards in his 28th game. Marcus Farria made his UW debut on Idaho State’s first drive of the game to become the eighth true scholarship freshman to play for the Huskies this season. Walk-ons Kaleb Taylor and Taelon Parsons made late fourth quarter appearances to become the ninth and 10th true freshmen to play. Josh Banks was credited with half a sack in his very first play of the season. Hau’oli Kikaha recorded his first sack since Sept. 3, 2011 vs. Eastern Washington and collected 2.5 on the day. UW outgained Idaho State 260 total yards to -12 in the first quarter and had 12 first downs to Idaho State’s 0. Washington’s starting back seven defensive players combined for three tackles. One each by Greg Ducre, Marcus Peters and Princeton Fuimaono. Austin Seferian-Jenkins caught his UW tight end record 14th career touchdown. He is now tied for 9th all-time (with Anthony Allen and Fred Coleman) among all Huskies for TD receptions. Keith Price was 16-of-21 passing for 213 yards and three touchdowns. He became the third Husky to surpass 900 pass attempts (913) and has 591 completions (3rd) and 6,832 yards (3rd). He added to his UW record total and now has 61 TD passes. Sean Parker notched his 9th career interception. John Ross and Cyler Miles hooked up for a 57-yard touchdown pass, the first of both player’s careers. Eight different Huskies accounted for all eight touchdowns. Four Huskies turnovers this season have led to zero points for opponents through the first three games. Conversely, five opponent turnovers have led to four Husky touchdowns.
