What does it say? What does it mean? It says 100.0 and that means that we are looking at stuff from a regular standpoint.
The average height of a human:1.7×100 = 1.7 meters The average length of a hummingbird: 1×10-1 meters= 10 centimeters The average length of an ant:4×10-3 meters= 4 millimeters The average length of a red light wave:7.5×10-7 meters= 750 nanometers The average length of the largest virus: 4.4×10-7 meters= 440 nanometers DNA width:3×10-9 meters= 3 nanometers Water molecule:2.8×10-10 meters= 280 picometers The average length of a Tyrannosaurus Rex: 7×100 meters= 7 meters The average US House:1.5×101 meters= 15 meters Boeing 747: 6.5×101 meters=65 meters Rhode Island: 7.5×104 meters= 75 kilometers Pluto: 2.3×108 meters= 2,300 kilometers Earth: 1.27×107 meters=12,700 kilometers Saturn: 1.2×108 meters= 120,000 kilometers The Sun: 1.4×109 meters= 1.4 million kilometers Total Human Height: Stingray Nebula:7×1014 meters= 700 billion kilometers 1) When did you use negative exponents in scientific notation and why? The negatives come when the object gets under one meter and it gets like that because you have to move your decimal backwards to be able to get anything less than one meter. 2) When did you use positive exponents in scientific notation and why? We used positive exponents when things got higher than 10 meters because after ten meters you cant really get any bigger without moving your decimal down the number continuously. 3) How is using scientific notation with the same base unit of measurement when measuring multiple things helpful? It is helpful because when you look at the exponent all you have to figure out is which exponent is bigger and that most likely means that that certain thing is bigger unless the first numbers you have are a big difference apart. 4) Write about anything you noticed or found interesting.

I found it interesting that if you wanted to meet all the people in the world...it would take 200 years. I also found it interesting that there are stars more luminous and bigger in size than the sun.
