What is Enlightenment ?
Enlightenment is a Concept that must be understood by one. Because Enlightenment is a concept
there is no need to wish away Enlightenment as an illusory one. Existence is illusion. But still
life goes on. Similarly Enlightenment need to be understood thoroughly. When self correction
happens in Mind, it results is Enlightenment. Enlightenment results in a better state of
understanding about life and existence as a whole. Let us see what exactly the concept of
'Enlightenment' is:

Enlightenment is not at all a Big Deal!
There is lot of Hype about enlightenment. While spirituality entails lots of mystical experiences
enlightenment itself is 'Not at all' an experience. Any experience that begins should always come
to an end. Hence, enlightenment can not be an experience. When people take up Meditation,
Bhajans, Japas, Prayers and other spiritual sadhanas it is quite natural for sadhaks to experience
mystical visions, bliss etc. None of these are in anyway connected to enlightenment.

What is Enlightenment?
Enlightenment is realization of the Truth behind existence. It is a thorough understanding. As all
understanding happen in Mind, enlightenment also happen in Mind only. Our
Consciousness/Awareness is always perfect and it needs neither enlightenment nor any
improvement. Consciousness is as perfect as ever. This must be thoroughly grasped in Mind.
Hence all necessary breakthrough should happen only in Mind, Mind and Mind only.

When the Mind understands its own limitations and realizes the Truth Behind Existence it results
in Enlightenment of the Mind. There are plenty of persons who are fully enlightened and they
even don't know that they are enlightened. So in order to realize that one is enlightened one
should thoroughly examine with one's one self or get it confirmed from an already enlightened

person. Enlightenment needs verification. That is one should Understand that they have
understood their enlightenment. Enlightenment is purely understanding only.

The following Key points should be thoroughly understood to achieve Enlightenment:
1. All Duality is Illusion. Illusion does not mean that things don't exist. They exist. But, they are
not Real.
2. There is only Consciousness/Awareness. This is the substratum of all existence. Consciousness
is beyond Existence and Non existence. All existence and non existence happen within
consciousness. Time, Space, Universe and all its contents are inside the domain of
Consciousness. Consciousness is all Inclusive. We are that Consciousness.
3. Consciousness is always perfect and needs no Enlightenment.
4. The Mind only needs Enlightenment.
5. Mind is Imperfect, Deficient and will always remain so forever. Knowledge will always be
incomplete. The mind understands its limitations after gaining Enlightenment.
6. Thoughts come on their own and die on their own accord. Thoughts are involuntary.
7. Mind can not be controlled by Mind.
8. There is no good thoughts or bad thoughts. They are mere thoughts. One need not give
prominence to them.
9. Trying to fight with your Mind will always yield negative result only. Like a barking dog gets
into severe barking when we also bark at it.
10. Enlightenment is not an Experience. It is the end of all experiencing. End of experience
means you will not have conflicting mind. You simple flow like a river. The mind understands its
limitations and gets subdued. Ego vanishes.
11. Enlightenment is not something gaining new. It will be in the form of pure understanding.
12. Enlightenment happens through Jnana (Knowledge about the Self)
13. Enlightenment is understanding the true nature of Self.

14. No noble action will ever bring you enlightenment. Even a thief is eligible for enlightenment.
15. The whole Universe is a Construction of our Mind as the Universe simultaneous comes into
existence only with the 'I' thought. When the 'I' vanishes automatically the Universe also
vanishes together.
16. There is only one 'Self'(Consciousness). There are only multiple Minds. The one self dreams
through multiple minds on a common platform called Universe. Since the substratum is a single
common Self there is a common universe in all the Minds.
17. We are not the Body and Mind, but only the Single Self (consciousness) that is the
substratum of all. All the Trees, Insects, Animals, You and I are one single consciousness.
18. Consciousness is all there is. All existence even though appear as multiplicities of mind,
everything is a singular consciousness.
19. Consciousness constructs everything in its Imagination and Dreams the whole Universe and
its contents.
20. Nobody has any independent action as the whole Universe is a single integrated living
organism.
21. All separation in existence is illusion created by Mind as a fun drama purely for the sake of
Fun and Joy.
22. The whole Universe is a Construction of our Mind. Since, you are not an Independent Piece,
you don't have independent action, except as a belief in your Mind.
23.Everything Happens Spontaneously at this moment, which is Eternal, even without your
concurrence. But our mind assumes as if it does.
24. There is only an Eternal Now which is Timeless. Past, Present and Future are pure
Imaginations of Mind.
25. You don't become enlightened after you are fully purified. This would never happen. Rather
it is the other way around. Once you become enlightened, the newly attained enlightenment
purifies all your actions.
26. Enlightenment is an irreversible Process, as it comes in the way of understanding.

27. Defining Statement: Even the word Enlightenment is fake, as it springs up only from your
Mind. In essence, to realize the fact that there is 'No Enlightenment possible' and 'Everything is
just a play of our Minds' is to achieve 'Enlightenment'. So, enlightenment is just a relative truth
happening in the Mind.
The above list is not exhaustive. Only a clue is given in the above list.
